Well, after 17 seasons, finally bit the bullet, & decided to post here.
Bit of background.
Started 30/12/13 & have 3 teams.

L17S17
L12S12 ex FPL League
L7S7 ex OMA League.

Also thought it would be good to see teams progress in 1 thread & see if my expectations are being met, results & $.

Davy Gravy Teams - The week that was (TWTW) - S64W1

OK, so I will update this thread weekly, to see how I've gone, where I'm going, sort of thing.

S17L17 - A solid start - 10 matches (5-4-1). Team now playing variations of 3-2-4-1. 10x5* eq 1st in League, 1st in CL, cup don't ask. On track for results & finances. No more building & $215M in budget. Interesting that a more defensive form has brought me many draws. In league, looks like a 3 way battle (with in game friend and my only defeat challenging for the title). 99.5 AQ, will be 5* by week 2.

S12L12 – Ready for improvement – 12 matches (7-1-4). Team still playing variations around 3-1-3-3. 13x5*. 4th in league (6* Token buyer will win this league), 1st in CL, still in Cup. Need some improvement so Mr. Farmer has been enlisted. $300M budget & 50T’s should help. Interesting as to whether a more defensive form would help results, although my strikers are scoring at 64%, 64% & 58% of the time, so am loathed to drop them. Still aiming for CL spot. 75.2 AQ 5*.

S7L7 – Out in front – 12 matches (11-0-1). Team still playing variations on the 3-1-2-1-3. 15x5*. 1st in League & CL & still in Cup. $55M budget. Only loss 2nd leg of Cup tie with result already established. 51.7 AQ 5*.

I will hit 1000 combined wins this season, currently (946-177-214).

Well its been a good few days for the teams.

S17L17 Eq 1st League & CL & on track financially. 2X6* & 10x5*. Happy with the 8W-5D-1L results. 1 loss was in cup against stronger opponent.

Davy Gravy Teams – Mid Season Update - S64W2

As you may know I take a long term approach to this game. Some observations:
• I will try to buy: young Nords Day 1-3; Neg players Day 4-11, 1T FA Day 12-28 or good 1T players at high 3 or 8 levels not based on what my team needs.
• I will generally play my top 11 Q wise as long as it’s a reasonable & legal form (although Average Q as a result of its linearity is slightly less important at higher levels (e.g 1* difference at level 1 is 10 vs 5 (100%), yet at level 17 is 105 vs 100 (5%))).
• I buy & sell 0T academy, not T.
• I compare my team regularly with Mou with respect to: fans; average age; average Q & team value.
• The only orders I change based on other team relate to team mentality and tackling.
• I keep my morale and condition at match time to superb & ~ 94%.
• I also think it’s important to balance $ financially at higher levels.
• I don’t believe the training cones spent on SA is worth it although it remains for life.
• I am to keep my team at 5* and sell off down to ~14 at end of season. I generally only keep players for ~ 3 seasons max. Vary rarely renew a contract, best to sell right at end of contract $ wise.
• Try to keep my squad at 18.
• I aim to have 4% from the stadium as I feel that gives you max $.
• Unfortunately I have some weird formations at the moment due to interesting player buys, but am happy with results (my favorite form is probably the Dandelion, but haven’t had the team to implement it yet).
I cannot complain with these results with a combined 972W-186D-219L ratio, especially as I am at the Harry Redknapp end of the master tactician scale, & so are my transfer dealings.
I think it can be a simple game. I tend to do the same things as long as the results keep coming.

S17L17 - A strong start - 19 matches (11-6-2). Team now playing variations of 3-3-3-1. 10x5* with 2x6*. 3rd in League, 1st in CL. 100.8 AQ 5* as predicted.

S12L12 – A good start – 23 matches (13-4-6). Team now playing variations around 3-1-2-2-2. 1x6* 15x5*. 3rd in league, qualified in CL, out of Cup. Could strengthen squad, currently waiting to ensure CL spot. Have $315M & 41T so have huge budget. 76.3 AQ 5*.

S7L7 – A great start – 24 matches (20-2-2). Team now playing variations on 4-1-1-1-3. 4x6* 13x5*. 1st in League & CL & still in Cup. 53.1 AQ 5*.

Davy Gravy Teams – TWTW - S64W3

So the combined teams are now at 992W-186D-224L. So I will hit 1000 combined wins in Week 4.
Week 4 of a season is known as the week of the long broom, where:
• 4*
• mid 5* players (up to 3 & 8 Q), and
• players off contract unless 6*
are bid farewell, in my quest to get my squads down to 14 players by the end of the week.

Although with this strategy I will never have a 300+ game player. My player records are
S17L17 – T Pistrol, an amazing winger, 254 appearances, 162 goals
S12L12 – B Kaymak, a great AMC, 162 appearances for 123 goals & 55 assists
S7L7 – Stephen Taylor (current), a top 23 y.o. striker, 197 appearances for 155 goals & 83 assists.

S17L17 - A strong season - 27 matches (18-6-3). Team still playing variations of 3-3-3-1. 3x6* with 12x5*. Solid 3rd in League (7 points clear of 4th), Still in CL, although playing stronger in-game friend. 100.8 AQ 5*. Importantly financially have only lost $31M this season, with no more building, am on track for financial goals

S12L12 – A good season – 31 matches (19-4-8). Team now playing variations around 3-1-1-2-3. 1x6* 17x5*. 2nd in league, Still in CL. 76.3 AQ 5*.

S7L7 – A great season – 33 matches (27-2-4). Team still playing variations on 4-1-1-1-3. 8x6* 10x5*. 1st in League & still in Cup. 53.8 AQ 5*.
