Anyone had a loss like this?

I was playing a second leg cup game. Won the first game 1-0(away game). In the second game I was winnging 1-0 and the opposition team had a red card with 10 men in the field. At the beginning of a second half he made 3 subs and started playing with no defense players. His formation was like GK-ML-MC-MC--MR-AM-AM-ST-ST-ST. He won the game 2-1 and I got eleminated from the cup.:mad: Now IRL I should have a crushing win. Is this some kind of a cheat? If so what should I do?

PS. I am at level 7 if it does make any difference.

Despite it wont change things, id send a ticket to support asking just " please could you actually tell me how this can happen in a simulation of soccer"?

They wont fix ****, but might get embarassed in return.

It is an unbelivable loss for me. I have been playing all kind of football manager games since Championship Manager 93. I don't expect this game to be anywhere close to Championship Manager or Football Manager, but this is a total crap. If this is an illegal formation they should ban him from the cup for this season. If this is not an illegal formation and a 10 men team could beat the opposition in away without a single defense player; I got nothing to say...

Embarrass them??? They dont give a **** in the first place, and support would just laugh their asses off - I know...I would.

This is the reason why I suggest that anyone using an illegal formation defaults the game. And if you do it in game, it shouldnt allow it and should put a person in the necessary position so it wont be illegal by default.

The trolliest troll result I have seen, EVER. post a screenshot if you can.

I can't post his illegal formation(illegal imo though); since he made the changes in second half. However you can see that all the subs he used for second half was MC,AMC and AML. He changed the 3 defenders he had left, since one of his defender was sent off. I sent a ticket and hope to see some reasonable action, but after craciot's response I am hopeless.

I will post their reply in here anyway. But this is kind of a game-stopper for me. Ok this is a game, but this is a game about football not about nail-polishing. And in football you can't win a game where you play entire 45 minutes without a defender in a pitch and in your tactics...

This game is totally close to Championship Manager.. Championship Manager 93, lol. First CM game I played was the 93/94 Italian league. I played it with my brother, he would go InterMilan and I would go Sampdoria. He would always pip me to the post at the end of the season to win the league. Except the one season I finished above him, and I was still only 2nd. grr. I think I kinda even remember the formations we played(though I might be confusing with when we played the 97/98 version).

First football manager game I ever played was called 'The Double' on my commodore 64. Hard as diamond coated nails to play(though that might've just been because I was a little kid). And it took forever to load in the match day results. I'd love to have a crack at it now that I'm an 'adult'.

Memories Memories:)) I suppose you are arond 35 years ols like me. The first manager game I remember playing was Peter Shilton Manager on Amstrad :)) I agree the game-play is similiar to CM93 as we could have just read the comments. However simulation and the reality of this game is nowhere close CM93. I doubt that you could avoid loosing a game with 5 goal margin; if you play an entire 45 minute without a defense player even if you have 11 players on the pitch. On my exprience on top of defenseless tactic, opposition team had a red card. And our teams has similiar power; my team has 52.1 and his team has 53.6. On this balance 1 player having a red card should make a big difference; on top of his red card he used a formation like 0-6-3. Trying this formation on any team means to commit a suicide.

I do believe that when you take a screenshot of the formations in the game report, it shows the last formation that the opponent used. Try that and show us please

Nope you get the line-up formation. Actually this is one of the downside of the game. It should show the first half, second half and the final formation. Another downside is not the show ratings for the subs. Anyway here are the screenshots:

Personally, I don't think there should even be an "illegal" formation in this game. Managers should have the right to field their players wherever they wish without penalty. I would like to use the old W/M formation which only had 2 defenders in it. But here, it is illegal. Why? And what about the new tactic of "ghost #9", used successfully by West Ham on Sunday, and also by the Spanish National team. Again, with no strikers, that formation would be illegal here.

Especially 2 @ the back, that is really not fair that we can't do this if we choose.

Remember this is a game based on numbers. Without numbers from certain formations, the game engine cannot properly choose a result from the matrix.

I agree that it should be up to the manager for his formation, but it becomes a matter of how to program the possession percentage for the devs. These formations are not normal so they slap a 20% possession penalty on them by default. I think this is perfect. But I dont think that a team should be able to win with 20% possession as much as they do. They got the percentage right but they also have to limit the amount of shots on net and fouls suffered.

there is still a lot of work to do on this game. It is too bad they take ages to make the simple fixes. F********G M****NS!

It sucks, but some ilegal formations are really tought to beat.
I had one game were the other manager only had dr DMC and dl in the back, i was playing with 2 ST in the meadle but only scored at minute 80 from free kick.
The players can move over the field, whend you are seeing the coments you often see your ST helping in the back. The reason is simple If you can not put the ball in front, you are always being pressed, it a suicidal tactic, but sometimes with this engine works.

I am also against banning any kind of formation. I believe you should be able to use any formation yu want. However if the game has formations that no-one can beat than everyone will use that formations. IRL you can't win an away game with 10 men and without any defense player on pitch and on your tactics. This is a game about football and it should act like a football game. Until they fix the match engine to be more realistic; they should ban people winning matches with illegal formation.

Yes I am against banning illegal formations as long as the match engine is realistic. IRL there is no illegal formation, but as I wrote before you can't win a game without a defense player present in the field. So as long as the match engine is close to reality I don't care about the opposition formation. However if there is a set formation that makes you win all the time regarless of the opposition managers' moves; that should be illegal since it is a way of cheating the match engine.

They are calling the formations illegal because the match engine can't handle those formations. So as long as the match engine could handle them I don't give rat's a ss.

It has to be more serious than that. If you dont take this game seriously (LOL), then you put an illegal formation and should lose as a result. The fact that people win often with illegal formations is ludicrous. Not only do they win with illegal formations, they play players out of position and still win. It is an issue with the game engine and the programming.

I believe you should be warned with a popup that you cannot play an illegal formation or you will lose. 20% possession is too much if they want to penalize you for doing it. Go all the way and make it a default loss, or go all the way and make every formation LEGAL. Put more thought into formations and what effect they will have on the game. Right now, it shows that they dont give a **** and are too lazy to implement it properly. As a result, we have expectations based on their rules and they are not being fulfilled because it is programmed incorrectly. If you are going to penalize a team with 20% possession, then limit their shots on net and fouls suffered as they will not have as much possession. Also, it is extremely rare for a team with 20% possession to actually win. Nuff said.

I do agree. In my case the guy who played with illegal information qualified for the next round. So does %20 possesion made a difference? No!! And believe me I am not a moaning type. I am at level 7 and this is not the first time loosing a cup match or Champs League match. However loosing like this, loosing the game in a most unrealistic way in football hurts. At the end of the day if you do loose regardless of your moves, transfers, training; what is the point? Why are we wasting out time and money on this game then?

I don't expect to qualify in my case, but at least I do expect Nordeus to disqaulify the person who cheated his way out of the cup.

As you suggested if the match engine couldn't handle the "illegal" formations, and if they don't/can't change the match engine; they should result every game that uses "illegal" formation more than 10 minutes as 3-0 loss. Otherwise it is becoming a waste of time imo.

I hate this damn faulty engine so damn much...i just lost my CL 2nd match and thus all after getting scored on 2 times in the last 4 minutes...was comfortably winning 1:0 (first match i won 1:2 at his home).ALL my penalty shooters had higher ratings in offense my gk was WAY higher statwise. Not to mention that my team was way higher rated and i used subs etc...this game is nothing more than a waste of my time...

Last time i couldn't even watch the game and make no subs. The other team did and had even supporters watching him. This time i was watching and had the full possession advantage...this is the worst hoax ever. i will NEVER watch a game live anymore. This fu*kin posseion advantage is not worth ****.

I was the top q team of all CL competitors and would have had a real shot at the finals and now i get dropped by a lowbie team in 1/8. Hardly EVER happend in reality to a top team. Here i guess its a usual thing. So i will simply put no more time and effort in it...the return is just not worth it. If i want to get ripped off i go pay my taxes. And this really feels like beeing ripped off.

So damn pissed of right now. I'm a really competitive guy and i hate losing if i can't figure out what i can do about it. This is like flipping a damn coin and hopeing you get lucky...So hard not to use nasty talk against nordeus whom completely ignore us on such issues...They don't deserve us beeing calm.

I hear you my friend. There are so many things should change in this game to be somewhere close to a football game. Such as rating system, such match reports, such as bugy statistic. I could accept all of it but first of all they should fix the "match engine". There can't be an illegal formations in the football game. If you use a stupid formation; you should loose the match like IRL PERIOD.

People shouldn't use stupid formations and still win the games. The idea about having a light, less time consuming, easier to catch up football simulation game is good. But the match engine should be much much better. Playing with this match engine is like having a red card after recieving 4 yellow cards instead of 2. Match engine is not close to anything like a game of football.

PS. Have you ever seen stats like 2 "Total Shots", 3 "Shots on Target". I have seen it more than couple times and this shows the realism of the match engine.

Misha Cali is right. It is always good to accept defeat but one can't do that unless he knows the reason for his defeat. If I don't know where I went wrong, and nobody else can figure that out as well, I cant believe that I was wrong and so I can never learn!!! This game engine will spoil our moral values!!!!

Yes excactly. It is my 7th season in the game and this is not my first loss. I have never complain about my losses. I even had a tie against the most weakest leftover team, had no complain about it. This one I am complaining is the most unrealistic score I have ever seen in my life...

Honestly till lvl 5 I had never lost to weaker teams. Won 1st lvl league and reached semis of CL where I lost to stronger team. I have never faced a weaker team in Cup, all have been above me. Lvl 2, season 2 I didn't manage as I was out on vacation so ended up 9th. lvl 2, season 3 I came 1st in league and reached cup 1/16. lvl 3, I came 3rd in league due to injury probs and out of form in the middle and reached CL quarters losing to scout avg team, 3-2 on aggregate. What matches both the legs were!!! Lvl 4 came 2nd in league behind a PT user who won the league 25-1-0. lvl 5 I came 1st in league. Reached CL quarters. I was the one who drew with him 2-2 away.(Lost 1-0 home). Till then it was fine. But frm lvl 6 onwards I started getting these troll results losing to weaker teams after doing everything right. Still, after slipping down to 5th in the league I recovered to come 2nd. But now in lvl 7 I am tanking due to unrealistic results and totally out of form players. I have the best squad in the league and am 11th.

I just got an answer after 7 days of my ticket. They just figured out what I meant after 6 days. lol lol lol

Their reply is that my opponent didn't cheat about the match. And they said that his formation doesn't secure a win for a game and that he is punished for %80 possesion.

My reply:

This illegal formation **** is just that...****.

also, watching the games is ****. I got bumped out of the semis of the cup yesterday to a guy that never watches his games. ever. we ties 0-0 away and he won 3-1 at my home, I had +15% possession both times, equal quality, he played 4-3-3, which I have 3 counters for, and I beat him in every category, but he doesnt watch or make any subs and he wins easily. To add insult to injury, literally, my best player, MC with freekick, gets injured in the 8th min, and he scores a few mins after that, just as my sub appears.

So possession means jack squat, so watching the games for possession means jack squat. the only bonus to watching is the extra booster. the red booster is gone most of the time for the stupid yellow card you almost always get.

Good for you. tell you friends to stop buying tokens until they fix this game.
