I have one question why try and manipulate the cup when the money and glory is the league and champion`s league ??????? who cares about the cup since they brought this quality rule in

It depends on what your aims are basically, some managers will try and win one competition in a preference for another competition, I remember I disliked the RR Cup idea when it first came out, but I still won the Cup in the 4th season of the "RR Cup Era"

The format change was for the better, the competition makes more sense than "L1 vs L25" and only long term veterans now will remember the old cup format very well. Although many players still think its unfair, there is no perfect way of creating a good cup format that pleases everyone.

The current format, where you play people who have an equal skill quality, is pretty fair imo

Just some people manipulate it, which is always going to happen.

I think anyone will admit, that someone buying 10x scouts just after the cup draw, to increase their average quality by around +20, is a pretty extreme/excessive form of manipulation. It's not something which normal/sane people would do.

Gutted that you happened to draw them in an early round of the cup.

Pardon me if this is a dumb question but dont most people buy their scouts after the cup draw, since you can't really buy them before...? When does the draw take place?

As soon as the game setups a new season, He would sold his team at the end of the season and bought a team full of 3* players, then won promotion thus these 3* get downgraded to 2*, then he goes and buys scouts and that vastly improves his team and he has an easy cup draw.

Dont forget we are tanking T11 were all kind of crazy results can happen.

2 seasons ago in CL i won at home and draw away with a Team 10Q better that mine full of scouts with SA. In the first game he was also seeing the game.

Who cares about the cup? It's always crap as you end up playing against teams 1-3 levels above you. (Even the Champions League has gone like this too now). I haven't played someone the same as me (or even less) in last 6 months! Usually last 1st or 2nd round and that's it. League is what we always come back to (Although now I have all lvl 14 teams and 1 lvl 15 in my league who is gonna walk it lol).

Why didn't you just sell your squad and fill it with 3* players before promotion and replace all those 2* with 5* and you may have a better chance of winning the cup, Looks like this guy done that last season and then bought scouts at the beginning of the season.

Guess you might get kicked out further than you thought you would. But was 2 months of tanking worth this? Heh. Just play the game as it comes instead of trying to manipulate the entire system.

This cup system is about as fair as it gets. What on earth is the glory in the CL and League where you can simply win by having much higher quality players (bought with real money)?
I love the cup for this very reason. You usually play against someone of your own level. If you don't, they manipulated the draw heavily. But as this thread proves, even those players will feel the pain at some stage.
At least the cup TRIES to put you in an equal level playing field unlike the other two competitions.

I wasn't refering to Razz tanking 2 seasons to get an easy cup draw, I was refering to the Boca Juniors guy who clearly manipulated his way to an easy cup draw big time.

Just played my cup second leg against a team 3 levels higher.
Have to say I was a little bit worried as he seemed to have gotten significantly better in quality over the last couple of days.
But 5 goals, (and a few rowdy songs from the fans) later, and the Eagles are marching into the next round .... woohoo )))

Hope my opponent wasn't expecting an easy victory over a lower division team
