I had a team friend in your situation and, I'm sure that like in his case, if you tank the season you will loose a level next season.
I remember that my friend had no opportunities in the league, but he won the cup and Champions so, play with this situation because, as I said can be an advantage.

I too was in a higher level, and in my case i won the league, so, I repeat in this level the next season.

I too was in a higher level, and in my case i won the league, so, I repeat in this level the next season.

As I finished in 11th I was not eligible for Champions league and have already been knocked out of the cup by a higher level and much better team.

If I tank this league, no option probably, scouts will be the same now as they will be next season, even if I get promoted from 11th place again. Even if I get promoted again I will still be a level 11 manager in a level 13th league. It gets worse. Pity this game doesn't cater for relegation were you could regroup.
