I've always made sure I bid at appropriate times and check out the opposition bidders to scope out whether it'll result in a bidding war, I used to follow the same philosophy, if the other bidder looked like he had tokens to burn, I'd look elsewhere.

However this new intimidation strategy seems to work I guess, although not everybody can afford to buy the official items

If you are prepared to go the rounds, then it's good to have the cash to back to up, as well.

Depends on wether I need the player or not.

I'd say 25 tokens for someone who's perfect for me on the TL, in a much needed position as a replacement.

10 tokens for a player id need as a sub or a reserve.

But saying that, most of the time I end up just bidding for my pride and dignity.

I remember shouting at my phone once, "JUST GIVE UP NOW, I CAN GO 500+ ROUNDS IF I NEED TO, YOU'RE JUST WASTING MINE AND YOUR OWN TOKENS!'
