What does the team captain do?

No. He just wears the captains armband and plays like a commder on the field and he may hurt others egos and he will get a huge ego himself.....lols JK they are useless, do nothing, just for cosmetic effect

I don't think they have any influence over game but just to be on the safer side - I make the player with the maximum PHYSICAL and MENTAL attribute as CAPTAIN...

I have assigned 10 captains for my team out of a 22 players roster. I would have assigned everyone if I was given the option, though I dont think this affects gameplay or attributes in any way.

they might be important, remember Frank Lampard for Chelsea. I believe the rule is to put one of the older players with good form as captain

usually the captain is the one who takes the man of the match award..so put a player that u want to take 5-6 more sp in the season
