League: Celtic Rangers first full league campaign comes to an end with a 4-1 victory over AC Milan. Alan Higgins, DC and Captain once more basks in the spotlight with a hat-trick, a 9 rating and another MoM.
There is a slight tinge of regret in the camp as they think of the that 3-2 away loss that sits alongside the 25 league wins. Next year!
Tottenham FC finished the season with awsome style!, the first took to the field against the bottom of the league and it rained goals!, final score 11-0!!!.
NewchesterUnited completed its second double in two seasons. NU claimed League and Champions League titles this time. NU's bid for a second straight Cup crown ended with a 3-2 loss to BARCELONA in the final Thursday.
BARCELONA took a 1-0 lead after 10 minutes. Jhony Caballero scored twice for NU, in the 18th and 68th minutes, to give NU a 2-1 advantage. BARCELONA tied the score in the 74th and retook the lead for good in the 86th. NU's only two losses this season were in Cup play. The Black-and-White dropped the first and last matches it played in the competition.
NU won its first-ever Champions League title by defeating CSSEDANCFA, 3-1, Friday. Eddie Colaluca's free kick gave NU a 1-0 lead after 43 minutes. Remembering what happened late in the Cup final, NU replaced center midfielder Aldino Adianto with right defender Muhammed Rotinsulu in the 68th minute.
The move appeared to backfire as CSSEDANCFA tied the score four minutes later. However, Rotinsulu's header in the 78th minute off a Kelvin Duran corner kick gave NU a lead it would not relinquish. Daniel Tapia's 84th-minute strike clinched the win.
NU crushed Hai Tien FC, 9-0, Thursday night to clinch the League title. NU defeated kawinix fc, 5-1, Friday night in its final match of the season. The game was billed as Steve Freeman Night in honor of the retiring center midfielder. Gary Chattoe's registered his first hat trick. Two of the goals came in the final three minutes as NU broke open a close contest. Tapia, 20, replaced Freeman, 33, in the 77th minute so the crowd could give Freeman a deserving sendoff. Freeman ends his NU career with one goal in 21 appearances.
NU now waits for its first Cup match Sunday. In the meantime, sister club Isla Rose United makes its debut Sunday. IRU will officially form shortly after the new season starts.
