If he got the RED card earlier then it also proves the theory that the game result are decided before the match starts and there is no way available to influence them...

After the game has started and the simulation has been done it does not matters that you play illegal formation because the results have been already decided...

I expect this is just the same bug that lots of people have met recently (well, it's been going on for a while). I'd be surprised if Nordeus do anything about it - it's frustrating, I know, but it will probably happen the other way round at some point.
