Yesterday I saw the matches of today and I was thinking.... -who can fail tomorrow?
I had 51 points.... 41,41 and 40 fot the others near me and I was thinking to myself that maybe the 3rd can fail.
ChapĆ³, because he lost 2-1.
Now 54, 44,43,and this guy 41. He have a team with 6* players but is failing a lot. Don't know really whats wrong with him... but... I need 11 points to win the league... 21 are still pending to fight for them so...
We are doing the countdown to the 10th League title
Champions League: Buffs FC welcome SC Toronto for a CL 2nd leg tie with the Buffs 2-1 up from the away leg.
The Buffs emerged in 4-5-1V and Toronto 4-3N-1-2.
Balanced start to game but first real chance fell to Toronto when Gough was booked for foul on the edge of the box but Harvey controlled his area to collect the cross. The Buffs then exerted sustained pressure and got the breakthrough on 20 mins with a clinical finish by Denis Law. The game went to and fro with minor threats at either end until HT.
After the restart Toronto pressed harder but Buffs broke on the counter - and then were themselves countered and Toronto finished a neat move in style to level it. Encouraged by the change in fortunes Toronto switched to 4-2-1-3 on 60 minutes and Buffs Mad sent instructions on to hold the lines and look for the fast break, as he put on fresh wingers and hoped to Force Counterattacks. And hold on they had to as Toronto tightened the screw and shot on sight. But Buffs stood firm - a bit too firm with Hutton booked after 65 but again David Harvey was equal to the threat. Buffs then went close twice on the counter and it then looked like either side could score as it went end to end again.
Buffs Mad sat mumbling, although barely audible, it seemed he said "go 4-3N-3, c'mon Toronto, go 4-3N-3". The Buffs continued to man the barricades and hit fast on the break until Toronto pulled off their AMC and sent on an MC. So 77 mins gone and Toronto were heading for the trap.
Buffs Mad jumped and waved maniacally and the wingers came back deeper - 4-1-4-1 defensive counterattacking. Toronto hardly got another sniff at goal as the Buffs controlled possession and the trap snapped shut as the Buffs forced 4 corners in the last 5 minutes. CK specialist Gemmill finally found right winger Henderson on the 90th minute mark and he half-volleyed home.
Nervous, tense, tight but strangely, at the end, you got to love it when a plan comes together: 4-5-1V + wait until the inevitable 4-3-3 comes -> 4-1-4-1 = win bonus for all
2-1 win away, 2-1 win at home, 2 more games to try to get to 1 Final. Let's do it.

still 9pts behind leaders but a 5-1 home win with my striker scoring a hat-trick to make that 23 goal in 20 league games helps extend the gap away from 3rd

Meh, only a draw for Kentucky FC against Paul FC, a team with 13.5 less average quality. Good tactical switch right before the match start by Paul FC. He went in front by a penalty and an adjustment of my tactics only lead to a draw. So KFC is 17 points in front and the championship is postponed.
