As I remember, T11 reminds us when we got a negative balance. I am not sure if they also reminded that they will sell our players after 7 days but I always know this.

When selecting a player for auto-selling, I believe they will select the highest value player whose value is high enough to cover the debt, or simply the highest value player. This can ensure minimum number of player will be sold and probably made least damages to the team.
