Not getting promoted is better than rank 5 and 6 because there will be no champion league which means less income from matchs despite leveling up, it's a huge disadvantage.

If you can't reach the fourth spot or above I suggest you give up that season entirely and focus on making profit and upgrade your infra (by selling expansive and buying young and cheap players).

Too extreme. Finishing 5 & 6 and not being able to do anything when you promote? Good golly Miss Molly! Won a couple of league titles after finishing outside the top 4 with sufficient money in the bank to upgrade the team for the current & next season. All you need to do is sell your players and get better ones.
