I sadly had to sell one of my favourite players. He played 250 games but was not up to the level I was at and starting giving ratings of 4556554. He had to go and fortunately someone bought him. My experience is that sentmentallity has no place in T11. Ged rid if you can.

No place for sentiment in football.

Get them sold if they are no longer up to the job.

As you go up the levels you will see money is a big issue in this game. You won't have the luxury of carrying players who are not up to the job unless you plan to spend real cash or can farm loads.

    Sell sell sell

what i do is work out when i plan to sell and leave said player/player`s 1 skill away from next star so if 4 star in new season for level below they are 5 star and 1 skill away from scout, then wait for neg bids to come in, or with one player i sold via transfer list to open a space for new signing he was sold for 209 million and his value was 108 million so with my 2 new signings i only spent 5 million

Keep until their performance on the field suffers. Stars mean nothing.

In this game there are those "special ones" worth keeping... I wind up naming my stadia after the ones I keep whole career.
They need to play almost every match and a extra training to keep up Q. On my no money teams I play 'em every match.
Here's one from a team that I occasionally watch videos for T on and also hasn't always promoted:

And another, he's retiring after this season >sniff<

Mostly players last about five seasons on my teams (excluding BvB where I do a lot of training they stay longer)

How on earth do you manage to keep them so long? I've got a whole roster of fast trainer Nordgens that produce very well for me but several are now 20-21.

My understanding is that they slow down in growth at 21 and I am promoting every season. Can I really grow them a star per season after 21 or will they still play well if not?

I hear people say stars mean nothing but my trophy case seems to disagree (I have 2 cup titles and 2 league titles in 3 seasons as well as 2 CL final losses and a 2nd place league finish).

Stars are only a relative guide of their Quality. As you can see with Jan Fischer, he has been a 1 star for awhile now but it has only slowed his production a little.

Play everyone in 2 matches a day and if they are fast trainers they can keep up for awhile, but I usally throw as many greens at them as I can when they are younger (under 24)

Also some players can train well past that... in their favorite training. I had a twenty six year old that rivalled some mid fast 22 year olds, in Cardio. If you keep a record of their gains for a week you can tell if they have a preferred training.

The final upgrade on training hall gets you 7 greens every 3 days. I use them. I never waste any condition, I log on twice a day for training and (or) friendly. I have my starters at ninety five ish at match start and the reserves at eighty five ish.

In his 7th season for me, his numbers speak for themselves. Last season, 48 goals, 7.9 average form, 11 man of the match.

Yeah I tend to sell at 24-27 if their value/wage ratio dips below 25 and their production/form shows a significant decline over 5 games or more. But some players just are too hard to sell, I just sold my keeper I had from s1 he went from 16Q to a decent 31Q but I got a 32Q keeper on a free that trained better/and was worth more. So I just sold him and kinda miss seeing him in my list already but I still have 2 other players from my first season that I want to hold on to awhile longer. The one 23Q ST is the streakiest scorer ever he will go 6-7-6 and not even make the comments then all of a sudden he will score 6 goals in 2 matches. Plus he won some key cup and league games for me early on so I feel like he is a role model for all my new players lol.

They aren't just skill points and numbers to me. I've even dumped players that had poor performances in key games as captains even though I had long term plans for them. If you don't produce with ideal conditions and max bonuses you gotta go.
