I won two trophies this past season. My 3rd league title out of 4 and my very first Champions League title in my 3rd straight finals appearance. It was great to get the last of the 3 trophies won. I have the career treble. Now I just need the straight up treble.

I am about to use about 500 green packs on my fast trainers to get them hopefully back to lvl 7 at least.

I don't know if players in this game have a prime or if age only determines growth speed but these kids are just now 20-22 forming my core plus I added 5 new 18 year olds and got rid of some of last years duds or players in positions I do not use.

I am pumped because for the first time I found a GK who was the highest value of all the Nordgens dropped day 1. I had never found a keeper that was even worth 75% of what the top value players were worth. No guarantee that he won't flop and it is hard to tell by ratings.

All the positions I wanted were the top few most valuable and I only had to really fight for one (the GK who I had to burn 35T on and pay damn near twice his value so I am praying he does well).

Needed a RB, RB was 2nd on the list. Needed a LW, LW/LM was 3rd. Needed a AM, he was like 5th or 6th but he was 4 points from 6* instead of 1 so I think when they all hit 6* he will be right with the rest. Lastly I needed a long term LB since my successful one is 24 now and was never a fast trainer, LB/CB was 4th on the list.

I got all of them. Knock on wood no busts out of the group. The GK and FB's will get tested right away. They all started the 2nd leg of my cup which I won easily. GK kept a clean sheet for a 7, one FB had an 8 and the other a 7. So far, so good.

The other two are mainly bench players who I will develop as best I can in case of injuries of if one of my L/C/R AM's starts to suck all of a sudden like my RB did last year. He had a great 1st season as a 7*, trained him back to 7* and all season was 6's and 7's. He is a RB/CB so I moved him after I clinched the league and he got a couple 8's at the end so maybe he will just have to be my first CB off the bench but I didn't have to sell him at least.

9-1 agg victory in round one against a lvl 8 team about equal rating to me. It was the first time that I got stuck with the instant game after reset. Glad I had my lineup ready and won 5-1 without watching. It wouldn't let me in, was trying every 30 seconds and then it finally reset and my game was over already. Only noticed it because my players lost fitness. My game was the very first in my cup.

Got much more detailed info on my showcase thread.

So Nordgen has been hating on me in the cup for the past 4 season now. It's hard enough playing players 3 levels above me. But when I get knocked out like this, it's a bit frustrating

What have you learned from last season?

That I should look to vary my formations by getting players with other secondary positions.

Where did you place last season?

1st in the League, quarter final in the Champions League and runner up in the Cup.

    What's your current level?

    Level 3

What's your budget for this season?

30m before resigning player contracts and other signings

Who do you want to replace?

Primarily my ML, MR and ST as the backup for these areas are the weakest parts of the team. If the opportunity comes, another MR and a multiposition DC wouldn't go amiss.

What are your goals for this season?

Win the lot. My team is strong all round and just needs a few tweaks.

I will post an update of my season so far once I have played my second leg, though it isn't a big update.

What have you learned from last season?

Attacking mentality wasn't working for me last season, so had to adapt my switching up tactics.

Where did you place last season?

    League (1st)
    Champions (1st)
    Cup (3rd_

    What's your current level?
    12

What's your budget for this season?
$195 mil and 74 tokens currently. Probably will add more.

Who do you want to replace?
    DR, MC and ST

What are your goals for this season?
Promote to level 13 in champions league spot.
Don't let Nazi FC win the champions league!!!
Cup, I don't know; might try for bad day achievement here in the next hour. It's a higher level cup and 3rd place has been my ceiling in higher level cups. Things are usually fairly balanced in the early rounds, but once the QF's/SF's hit those active higher level managers usually have had enough time to add the needed pieces to overwhelm my lower level team. It might just not be economical to stay in this thing, considering the cost it terms of blue and green packs, considering once I reached level 9+, the league has no longer been a joke and teams with 5* starting 11's haven't always been getting promoted anymore.

    First update of the season.

Despite a few bids in the early market, we were only successful in getting one player, a new ML that saw Cerezo Boons leave us in the process.

In terms of the Cup matches, we were up against a similarly rated team and progressed comfortably into the next round.

Lubo has had the magic sponge and is back tomorrow, while Acosta has served his suspension. Looking back at the cup match, I have to wonder why some manager's seem to have a very unbalanced team. They had 1 7*, 2 6*, about 4 5*, 2 4* and 2 3* players against me and it could be argued that despite the overall team quality being close to me, that's why they lost so comfortably.

Shock news! Palace Casuals have broken their Preliminary Round hoodoo...

Second leg game saw the new nucleus of the league team blooded, 'keeper Zoltan Bieder, left-sided defender Freddie Jones and utility midfielders and subs from the 1st leg Hansen and Shaqiri introduced instead of Dragut, Tikihy, Haubner and the injured attacking midfielder Graf; Silva Lima gets his chance in place of the suspended Babou Noubi, Domanski moving from defence to the defensive midfielder slot.

A largely forgettable first half saw two defence-heavy teams slug it out without end result, apart from a couple of bookings for two home players.

A half-time switch replacing Domanski with second midfielder Tzanakakis, moving the two wide midfielders to advanced positions and adding an attacking slant saw two quick goals for the Casuals soon after the restart, last year's Player-of-the-Season Anurak Arma bending a free-kick past the static home custodian and debutant defender Jones arriving in the box in time to head in a cross from right-winger Shaqiri. Arma then put in a Man-of-the-Match performance in helping the defence thwart any retaliation by the home side, and Palace ran out 2-0 winners, taking the tie 4-2 on aggregate. The only blot on the copy book was a booking for striker Andres Ramos for a clumsy tackle.

Off the field, a bit of rummaging around in the transfer markets has failed to unearth a suitable central midfielder so it looks like the existing trio will need to bear the responsibility. A watch will need to be put on the performance of Babou Noubi, who faded badly at the end of last season and has, at the same time, lost a little self-discipline...

Goal accomplished in the cup today, as we lost 9:0 unlocking the bad day achievement. Not quite sure how losing by 5+ goals is an achievement but i'm happy to say I've earned it.

I'm assuming my opponent when logging in to watch the match was shocked and pleasantly surprised to see his opposing manager watching the match and playing a 2w-2w-2w-2w-2 with all 11 starters playing out of position.

Now that that's over with, I will never play that formation again... Well, I can't say never because if I ever decide to tank, that special formation might be coming out again.
