Palace teams report, Wednesday final...
Evening matches for Palace Casuals in the league and Desert Rats FC in the Cup.
Casuals went away and deservedly took home a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Casuals dominated much of the first-half and the first part of the second, but the home side came back into the game in the last 20 minutes. Midfielder Mario Dinamarca earned MoM with his 49th minute free-kick goal and subsequent defensive efforts, the hosts equalised with a 25 yard shot in the 66th minute. The referee was very busy monitoring the home sides' shenanigans, no less than three bookings for shirt-pulling and one for a bad foul; Emrah Topalan also fell foul of the busy official after a trip.
Desert Rats were also away in the 1st leg of their Cup tie, and after an even first 70 minutes, a couple of substitutions turned the game the visitors' way. An intense first three minutes saw first Vinnie Taylor putting the visitors ahead with a free-kick and a minute later, a long shot beating Josh Parle in the Rats goal for the equaliser. The remainder of the match was fairly even, until the Management made a double substitution and then it all kicked off again. Taylor had two corner opportunities which were finished off by Francisco Pelissier and James Broomes, and he then netted another free-kick to make his personal tally 2 goals and two assists, ample reason for MoM in the fourth match running. The home side scored a consolation goal three minutes from time to make the final score 4-2 in Desert Rats' favour.
