Yes, this happening to me too sometimes, that's why I remove players (from favorite) that I decided I 'm not interesting.

The problem, Cat Harrison , is that if that player's auction finish and you don't sign him, it remains on the favorite list taking up a spot without being able to remove him since you can't find him anywhere anymore.

I f for some reason after the auction and after refresh the page the player still in the list so becomes persistent, by clicking player name and the heart should be enough to break his heart. LOL

No, you can't do that. Happened to me too.
