Great, this inspired me to do a preview myself.

Q: Last season was the most sucessful in the young club history (league title defended + CL win). What is the ambition for the club this lvl 3 season?
A: It was indeed very sucessfull. We try to win the 3rd championship in a row, but in the league are this time a lot of friendly managers, who are eager to get good results against us. In any case we are eager to get a better start than last year (26 points in the first 13 matches, 39 in the last 13 ones). In the cup we are happy we survived the 1st round against a lvl 4 team. Next round we face a scout buyer, so think from match to match. In the CL there are 3 other clubs with equal average team quality. We give our best, but day form will decide.

Q: The club made 3 new signings so far. Are the transfers activity done or does the club plan to perform transfers during the season?
A: FCK is very happy, three 19 years promising talents decided to join the club. Igor Ambrósio (DC/DR defensive wall), Jorge Fernandez (RM freekick taker) and Farshad Fathi (MC, already power-trained to 6*) are expected to give our team more depth. With these purchases the transfer activity are almost done. The club will only react if expectional players for ML/AML or ST are affordable for reasonable prices.

Q: What about the youth development?
A: Two youngsters will join the team in 6 days. We will see how they perform in training and if they can stay at FCK or qualify for another club.

Q: How about last seasons stars Ronnie Andre Tonseth and Guido Kunz?

A: Guido made additional training sessions at the start of the season and reached that way 6* at the new level. Ronnie Andre is close to 7*.

Q: Last question: In the rooster there are still 4 players from season 1? Will they get chances or warm the bench?
A: It depends on the players performance. We are very happy how Bernd Gürser improved during the last seasons. He learnt one new position (AMC, MC) and shows despite being only 4* his playmaker skills when he is fielded and is still quite young, 22. Dominik Afriyie, Florian Bernhard and Luis Leudo are this season 3*, but I trust them as back-ups. They will get playing time for sure.

Today FCK will start the regular league season in half-an-hour at Turkish side Dogancan FC. Afterwards the team will travel quickly home and face Vietnamese side Tran Ngog FC in the CL group stage.

That is strange since Tonseth scored and prepared twice, shame I bought him last season, he is my Chuck.

City started the defence of our championship, with a win in Turkey against a new opponent. Only sour note was that manager, Billy Wheeler was sent to the stand after a rant to the fourth official, over an incident where our star midfielder was injured by a crude tackle from the host's reserve 'keeper, who was playing in central midfield.

Result: HAKKI FC 0-4 LONDON CITY
    Goals: Flanagan 5, Morgada 20, Gentile 71, Mueller 78.
    M.o.M: Hector Morgada (LC).

We were soon into our stride in this opening league match and Seamus Flanagan opened the scoring early on. Hector Morgada added another midway through the first half. Two goals in the space of seven minutes from Willem Gentile and substitute, Rudolph Mueller near the end, gave the scoreline a comfortable look. We had two players injured during the game, the first after 19 minutes when a poor lunge from the home side's reserve goalie, playing in midfield, put Marcus Bentley out of the game. Lukas Duran also suffered a last minute hamstring strain.

We got our champions league campaign under way with a slightly uneasy win at home against what looks like, on paper, the weakest team in our group.

Result: LONDON CITY 3-1 ELHART FC
    Goals: Flanagan 38, Flanagan 54, King 84, Diaz 85.
    M.o.M: Jan Fredriksen (LC).

With 4 midfielders unavailable for selection, due to injury, we had a scratch team out for the match. Our Argentinian visitors had the better of the first half-hour, but we held firm. Seamus Flanagan headed our first goal from a Larry Redknapp corner, just before the interval. After the break, we finally got it together as a team, and Flanagan doubled the lead after a pass from Teddy King. King himself added a third with a solo effort 6 minutes from time. But there was still time for Diaz to pull one back, before the end.

July Fourth 3-1 Mars Champions League Group F Round 1
    July Fourth 102.0 1st Half 4-1-2-1-2 ND, 2nd Half 3W-2-3W-2 Atk - Mars 89.2 4-4-1-1 Right ST.

The red planet came to visit us here in London for the first group game this evening, July Fourth have a history of getting narrow wins in the first group game in the CL each season, for some reason its never Round 1 when we make our impact in the competition, It was the same case here, Mars played well and put up a good fight, Early on in the 6th minute Michu crossed the ball into find the advancing Papaleo into the Mars penalty box to knock it in to give us the lead, Miku had an effort midway through the first half but it was an easy save from the Mars GK, We then needlessly conceded a corner in the 37th minute and failed to deal with the cross into the box which von Bergen got the equaliser for Mars. The second half we switched tactics, taking off a tired Tony Adams and Petr Vasko and brought on L.McNamara and Zidane to go 3W-2-3W-2 and this seem to have an effect as we were getting many attacks on goal, Miku wasted a couple of chances but Michu was more intelligent to play a pass to Papaleo after beating some defenders and Papaleo made no mistake and July Fourth were back infront, Then out of knowhere seen Chuck Norris finish this game off with a long 40 yard kick that beat the Mars GK off his line, This fantastic goal saw Norris turn up the heat for the rest of the game by running into space and create a chance for Zidane but Zidane mis-kicked it and it was cleared.

Goals: Michu (6) von Bergen (32) Papaleo (51) Norris (79) MOTM: Norris
