The latest seasons, you can see in scout/list, players like DML-ML-AML. I asked some people and tell me that those are good in all their positions. So, such a player, if he is playing as DML and set a red arrow to him, he is very dangerous at counters.

But only because my experience is different. I only sign DR/DMR and place red arrow and they usually attack the edge of the box and find the corners. The top scorer in my division is a DML/ML with free kick ability. The ability might be a big factor none the less he's scoring.

I believe players have a form code behind the scenes. Meaning played in a certain position in a certain formation, he'll play above average depending on the opposition and possession. I think it's about getting that right formation to suit as many as possible.
