Palace Casuals were at home for their first League match of the season and faced a team with an equal quality starting XI. The visitors took the lead late on in the first half, but striker Massimiliano Gerini had the hosts level by the break. Palace Terriers opened their Champions League account with a home win over a 5Q poorer team. Covering for the absence of right-winger Declan McGranaghan, Nikolay Radev played on the right and Samir Gross moved from striker to left-wing, with striker Kamel Hamlili up front. Left-back Andre Forsmark scored a rare goal from open play when he opened the scoring with a header from a Gross cross, and despite a lot of huffing and puffing by the home side, the score remained 1-0 at half-time. After the break, the two wingers combined for Gross to add to the lead from a Radev pass, and after the Terriers Management used all his substitutions around the mid-point of the half, the hosts scored 3 goals in 10 minutes to confirm their overall dominance. Gross crossed again for substitute DMC Daniel Hristov to volley home, then striker Brian Horne made his second substitute appearance and scored his second goal, and finally the Gross and Radev show completed the scoring, Radev providing his second assist for Gross to score.

I don't know why I am excited for being an underdog in my league, I am better than just 2 teams. And I feel like competing and see what I can do. Drew my first game yesterday. Painful result though, went ahead twice but he managed to equalize. This would be an interesting season.....2nd game in 20mins 🏃

Palace Casuals played their away league match this lunchtime and managed a 1-1 draw against a team that 'was better on the paper' according to the AM. Andrea Denicola scored the Casuals equaliser 6 minutes from time.

After yesterday's win a 2-2 draw against the strongest team in my league. Loving my 4-5-1V again.
I did lose two players due to a red card and a six day injury. Same old story at the start of every new season.

Day 4 - Palace Terriers Cup report.
The Cup draw for the Qualifying Round had pitted Palace Terriers against a team +1 Level and +1.5Q on team quality, which translated into +3.5Q in starting XI, bearing in mind the Terriers had included some reserves. Terriers were sent out in 4-5-1V defensive mode, and were two down by the third minute after the break, so the Management decided to let them off their leashes and they pulled one back in the second half, the defensive duo of central defender Abdulla Ali with the header and left-back Andre Forsmark with the corner kick, doing the honours. Having cast an eye on the rest of the Cup competition and found mostly Level 10 and above prospective future round opponents, the Management now have a couple of days to decide whether to build on the away goal and go for progression, or concede the tie and concentrate on the other two competitions.

The day had desirable results. Today at the home day, we won and lost 6-0 in Cup and League respectively. It's definitely not worth to the league report, and won't do it this season, unless I wanna mess up the league ;)
What's interesting that the lone ST couldn't have even an assist, let alome a goal. The scoring started exceedingly early, with Baert assisting John at the edge of the box directly before the goal in 9' and Bircan himself scoring from the corner of the box in 12'. Then John once again scored a screamer from nearly the touchline 10 minutes after the break. Baert also entered the scoresheet in 66' after succeeding in a 1v1 attempt. John also completed his hattrick by heading in a Baert corner in 76'. And 5 minutes before the buzzer, rightback Costa dribbled so beautifully through the opponents that Messi would be ashamed. And the icing, the goalkeeper had to pick the ball from the back of the net. So this tie, along with the home clean sheet, is all but sealed.

I've already had enough of this season, bring on next season.
Power trained a super team, then in the very next game, the second leg of the Cup, lost 2-1, even though I'd won the first leg 3-0.
I was then held to a 0-0 bore draw against a much weaker team in the league yesterday, although I did win in the CL. I managed to just beat my opponent in the league today, even though again I was vastly stronger, yet was held to a 3-3 draw in the first leg of the Cup.
The team I have for the first time in seasons is a lot stronger than those I am playing, but yet I've had a defeat and 2 draws and 2 wins since power training the team. In contrast to last season where I won the first 20 games of the season, with a much weaker team.
The league has been really harsh on me again with FOUR team 6 star quality and a further team 7 star. It seems the trolls want to make things impossible for me this season.
Star player Foster has managed to get 7 goals from the opening 6 games, so not a bad return for him, but its a lot less than what he got from the first 6 games last season too. With lots of hard games to come I'm already looking forward to next season. The trolling I've had in the past 3 days after spending all day power training on Sunday has really diluted my motivation with the game at the moment.

Arriving late and unable to change the team from this lunchtime's match, the Casuals Management had to oversee a tired and, in some cases, morale-sapped squad, and they defied expectations and a 3.4Q deficit on starting XI, and made a right game of it. Right-winger Andrea Denicola opened the scoring with an individual goal in the 7th minute, and after the home side scored from a double corner, Denicola assisted left-winger Andre Faisca put the visitors ahead again. The Management made full use of the three substitutions and replaced tired legs, but the home side equalised for the second time at the start of the second half. A stoic defensive display for the rest of the game by the Casuals prevented any further scoring and they take a level scoreline and two away goals into the 2nd Leg in 2 days time.

Won lge match 3-2 after being 2 down
4-2 loss in cup against a team with no midfield. Now I need at least 3 away goals.
Any ideas how to counter his formation? I've tried a defensive 4-4-2 with long passing and changed to hexagon in the second half (4 defenders due to injuries and suspensions). Posession was about equal, but he had double the amount of shots and shots on target. He's a little stronger than me.

@Duncton 41212ND or a butterfly variant, a motivated 352 could do it as well, this is a counter attacking formation, you need a dmr and a dmc of your own.

What have you learned from last season? A lot of things I thought I learned are just theories. Either my own, formed through misinterpreting or selectively adhering to advice, or someone else's.
One thing I learned for sure is that there is a hidden cold streak feature that almost everyone experiences, many frustrate over, and few understand. And I learned to take it easy.
Where did you place last season? First in the league, thank you very much. Cup and CL I prefer to forget.
What's your current level? 8
What's your budget for this season? I still don't understand the question, sorry.
Who do you want to replace? MCs, GKs, STs, DCs, DL, DR. Ask me who I want to keep. My mid 5* DC/DMC with FK named Sergio Busquets (I named him), my low 5* MR/AMR and ML/AML.
What are your goals for this season? Figure out how I can retain more players season over season. Train my star ST as an AMC. Figure out how the game works. Figure out counter formations and orders. Win league.
Just lost 0-1 in the cup, I will probably be out after the away game.
The cup is just haunted, I played the final once and nothing more. This games just says "You can win everything you want, but not the cup."

I played a similar formation (especially the 4D-2DMC defence) several times last season and had the best results out of 4-3N-1-2... Normal/Counter/Short/Thru' the middle (yes, really). YMMVQuote:
