Palace Terriers end-of-season report.
Palace Terriers played in their 12th season at Level 12. In the League, they started slowly but surely, but finally gained a hold of the top spot in the League after a defeat against their closest-Quality rival, who subsequently tripped up against lower-table opponents and allowed Terriers free-reign at the top. As their nearest challengers continued to take points off each other, Terriers gradually built a commanding lead, and despite being left to their own devices in the last week of the season, eventually triumphed by 10 points. In all this, the Terriers Management did not resort once to the transfer market, the playing squad remaining the same for the whole season.
The Champions League proved more difficult than in previous seasons, Terriers losing twice in the Group stage and eventually qualifying at the top of their Group, but the warnings had been given. A straightforward win at the 'Top-16' stage was followed by a two defeats in the Quarter-Final matches against a slightly higher-Quality opponent.
The Cup is proving to be a problem competition for the Terriers, this season exiting at the Qualifying Round stage, where a convincing 2-0 win away in the 1st Leg was followed by a perplexing 1-3 reverse in the home 2nd Leg.
