Sometimes, you are put in what seems to be an easy or very easy group (based on quality comparisons). Then, you get 'trolled' in the knock-out stages and you are knocked-out. You might even get 'trolled' for one of the matches of the group stage itself. It is as if some things have already been planned.
This season, for my team, there is a strong possibility of playing in the final against the same team that I played in the Cup final last season. That is, if both teams are first in their group and are able to reach the finals.

Yes, but whats happening in this case is every single team in my CL group won there league last season. No CL group should consist of 4 league champs or 3 league champs and a higher level manager that reached the CL semi's last season.
My team is strong enough since my starting 11 is 104% average currently and defending a CL crown, so I should survive the group, so i'm not real concerned for my team. It's just that its a system which is punishing teams for winning their leagues.

Level 40 Manager
Yes, but what I mean is it is not necessarily a bad sign. You may well come out first or even second and have no 'trolling' in the knock-out stages, which means that in that case, you will have a better chance of winning the competition. I would rather choose to face close to, equal quality or higher quality active teams rather than choosing options that might include 'trolling'; Because for me, those teams can still be beaten and knocked-out with proper management and tactics, but in the case of 'trolling' nothing much can be done.
To comment to your concern as such, yes it not appropriate to put 3 or 4 teams having the same seeds in the same group.

3 seasons ago, the same thing happened, with the tournament consisting of 29 league champs and 3 higher levels. I did win that tournament, so hopefully your scenario unfolds again.
The odd thing with this format is, league champs are drawing higher level managers. But non-league champs (mostly 4th place finishers), are being drawn into lower-level ones. A t11 friend (Arpani FC) finished 4th last season, and is in a group with nothing but lower-level league champs.
However, I do understand, they need to put different levels in some CL draws, so the tournament has a 32 team field.
I do apologize if this topic is getting a little off topic and if it belongs elsewhere, I'll ask one of the mods to move it to its correct location.
Level 40 Manager
I have observed a lot of trends and similarities in the way things happen in this game. So, just don't worry about the other 3 active teams in your group. Get the tactics right, and you will surely get out of it. The major problem in this game is when something else other than quality and tactics significantly affects the outcomes of matches, so much some times that as manager you cannot do anything to change the final overall outcome; this is something that I don't like at all in this game. If you are a good manager and don't suffer such things, you will surely win or at least do well in what seemed difficult competitions visually (unless of course if there are other managers who are good or very good in the same competition).
Sometimes, I even feel more confident when I see my team being grouped or put in a batch where other teams seem to be good. Why? Because, when I see a lot of poor teams, I get the impression that something fishy has already been planned. Why I feel so? Because I have been in some situations enough of times, and their seems to be a lot of similarities and trends.
