Nothing to do, others like this more just keep playing if you want.
We're monitoring and looking at player feedback, both on the forums and in-game. There have been plenty of posts explaining why people like or don't like the new format, but if you have anything else to add, please do.
We really believe this new format adds a fairer environment and differentiates it from League and Champions League. So far, I've seen most of the complaints were about the prizes not being good enough for the difficulty of the Cup, so we'll take a look at that as well. In any case, please give it a chance at least.
i didn t like it too, but since i start to beat every stronger player in my cup i am starting to like it more na more :D
I don't like it because it puts token buyers at a disadvantage.
that is true, and what i was witness so far, the most of the strong players who pay for this game, are just ignoring it.
i used to spend a lot of tokens purchasing regeneration boost for these matches but in this new system is worthless to do it, so i don´t do it anymore and most of the players which play actively even don´t see these matches. - i didn´t see only twice so far but i completely didn´t care how it will end, i honestly want to end and somehow my team is still keep winning.
The one who don`t like this coup is because untill now had only lower levels in coup and win it easy (FAIL) and now when i have the chance to win it because all in coup are my quality even if they are lv +10 and i`m lower with 3 don`t matter so much ... i can manage to win it (FAIR)!Quote:

This isn't the fairest format that exists, I should of been the level banded format at the very least, to get rid of L2 vs L16 in the preliminaries, but they went overkill on this new format and essentially killing the whole point of actually buying tokens, whats the point of buying tokens when you improve your team only to find out your playing teams that are higher level than you against players that aint spent a dollar on the game?
I love the new cup. in the last 5 seasons, I won the first 2 games and then had to play a player who is 3-4 levels above me and had 10-20 better quality than me, so unless I was that other guy, I don't see the fun in that.
now I can play players my level and actually get close to winning the damn thing.
If I wanted to play a game thats fair on manager skill rather than overpowering my team with tokens then I would go and play some other manager game online, we bought tokens we should have the better skilled players in the 3 competitions.Quote:

stop whining, I buy tokens occasionally and I should not have such a major disadvantage in all the competitions just because you decided to spend so much money and buy tokens to improve your whole squad every single season. Yes it is fair as far as im concerned, why should I invest £££ only to face better teams that havent spent £££? If I wanted a level playing field that does not involve £££ I'd go find a different Football Manager game where spending £££ doesn't affect your success/failure.Quote:

New system should be level based, not quality based in order to be fair.

I can't understand your point. You say you should get lower level teams instead of higher. But how would you work this? For instance: If you were given a lower level team (as you want), why then should your lower level opponent have to play you, as you are a higher level team, which you say you shouldn't have. And then also, if a higher level team than you shouldn't play against you, who should they be put against, as you don't want them against higher teams. For every match between different level teams, there will always be pros and cons. I think the new way is the best (I hated it at first), but at least pairing you with similar quality teams, does seem fair. Good lower level teams can always beat average higher level teams.Quote:

I agree in the point of unfairness for low level teams(i was there and felt the same) but TE suppose, (and is), a football simulation following the rules of football as we all know it, the way the cup is constructed now with as much as possible closer quality teams does not resemble with any of known football competition, i understand that you have to please ppl, but at least the fundamental rules of football have to be followed, i have to suggest a cup competition in random quality groups of stages of every 5 levels (1 to 5, 6 to 10 etc), this way will resemble like cup, will not be so unfair and players will have the higher possibility to win it every 5 levels and the motivation to go on and break the repetition of similar seasons.Quote:

One concern I have though, it is easy for somebody willing to buy success to take the competition. Wait a few days in to the new season with a weak team and get selected for an "easy" cup competition. Then spend spend spend buying 5* and scouts. I totally agree with this, the point of playing a football based game is for it to be based on football. The old cup was and the new one isn't. In fact (having read this forum for a while but not posted till now) the discussions on here with people complaining about money etc now just highlight how realistic it was. Teams with no chance of winning could at least earn some good money, just like real life lower level clubs hoping to draw Man Utd etc so they can have a big pay day.Quote:

I think the banding idea works because it's clear some people are looking for glory and not so bothered about taking the big money. Like Maxtax says - that would give everyone a chance (or 2) every 5 seasons.
Finally, I have to disagree with MDKII when he says the new format "differentiates it from League and Champions League" In my experience the league has teams of about my quality plus some weaker teams, the Champions league has teams almost all about my quality (some lower some higher) and the cup now also has teams from about my quality - It has become much more like the other two than it ever was before
I've gone on long enough (and I said finally in the last paragraph) so I'll stop but I have other issues with the new format...
