Days 18/19 - Palace teams report.
Yesterday:
Palace Terriers played away at a team with almost identical quality and the result reflected this, but the Management will be having shooting practice for midfielder Joe Ralphs, handed a gilt-edged chance to bury the winner 5 minutes from time and almost hit the corner flag...
Palace Casuals were at home facing a 94%-116% Quality difference, and struggled to get some fluency in their game. That being said, a 0-3 scoreline flatters the visitors...
Today:
Palace Terriers played at home against the League Leaders, 98%-107% behind in Quality. The visitors obliged by playing a formation that could be countered by Terriers' trusty 4-5-1V, the Management applied hard defending and some possession bonuses, and Esneider Gil scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw. After their recent poor run of results, Terriers are 6 points adrift of the Champions League spots.
Palace Casuals played away against the team that knocked them out of the Cup, and gained a modicum of revenge by escaping with all three points to maintain their lead at the top of the table. Eirik Riis and Jack Auger put the visitors ahead at the break, but leading scorer Maarten Weigman turned villain in the second half, conceding the penalty that gave the hosts a route back into the match, but the Casuals kept them at bay and ended with a 2-1 win.
