I just came online now since my last post and it has changed.
Seems to me that the game engine needs to make up its mind.

By the way, am not from Naboo, is that even a place.

All his 3 players (who scored against me) scored their first goals (in the CL) in this match, certainly not great goalscorers.

His two DC are 84% and 76%. My stronger striker is 106%.

Perhaps the game choose today to give your team a bad day. Sorry...

Okay thanks. That makes sense now, perhaps I should form the habit of benching my high quality players, so I will be drawn into moderate leagues and cups.

Draws are based on best 14 players in squad irrespective of whether benched or not. Draw point being day change starting new season.

You will. A big key to winning a treble is to realise the game likes to hand good quality teams something like 2 or 3 losses a season. What decides the treble in those cases is which games the losses end up being. Take a loss in an unimportant game rather than a final.

It means to have the higher quality squad one must procure high quality players every season.

I just find you can go on a long unbeaten run where the algorithm eventually increases the probability of a loss to 100%. Lose game before a cup final and that probability is much much lower.
