apparently you can. yes. but only if you have bought enough tokens to cover the price of what you want to send.

If you bought 500 tokens then you can send almost anything.
If you bought 80 tokens then you can only send things worth 80 tokens or less.

All that to say, you cannot send OFFICIAL items (Liverpool, Roma, RM) with tokens you earn.
