I would get to the Semi Finals almost every season and then lose, I got to the Final 3 times and twice in three seasons and lost them all of those 3 before I won the trophy.
I had won every other trophy, I won the league multiple times, the Super League twice and the Cup twice before I won that trophy. I was exhausted of trying to win it and when I lost painfully by one goal in the Semi Finals, My worst Semi Final exit was a 118th minute decider in the second leg, that was a massive sucker punch to the gut, I accepted the semi finals as my limit, I thought I couldn’t get any better than the Semi Finals or the occasional runners up medal.
It took me 2 years, 7 months and 8 days of playing to win my very first one, it was also a perfect 13-0-0 run which made it even better. The next season I had a 12-1-0 in the Champions League, only sustaining a 3-3 draw in the first leg away in the Round of 16, I barely won that tie 4-3 on aggregate. I won the final 3 rounds 17-1 on aggregate to get back to back trophies. At that time, I decided my work was done and took a break and won only the league that season, then I took a month off and then I won the league and cup last season and I am currently on another break.
You remember me talking about my back to back Champions Leagues bid in November, mostly during the build up in the Final hours leading up to the 2nd CL Final which I didn’t bother attending. I won 1-0 against a team who had a 7 star SA goalkeeper and 4 other 6.5 star players, the rest of his team was only 4-5 stars. I really should have lost because he dominated me until a defender popped up from nowhere and won it in the 88th minute.
I only won the Champions League twice and featured in the final 5 times in 23 seasons. I had 3 very painful losses in the finals including one from a PK shootout in my second season playing.
I know you have got to the CL Final 4 times and won it 4 times, I am happy I got my CL trophies after more than 2 and a half years of trying. That is the only reason I won it, I did not give up on winning it, I knew I could not quit the game without winning it. I did finally get them and now I can quit without the nagging feeling to come back.
I am also glad I got the opportunity to play in the Super Cup, I won them back to back as well but they weren’t easy, I only won each by a 2 goal margin.
Not only that, I saw someone respond to a Top Eleven tweet, (What are your goals for Season 120, or something like that) And some person said, I am looking to win my first Champions League trophy since the establishment of the club in 2011, he went more than 8 years without one, I am sure he still hasn’t won one since then but I am not sure.
I still find the cup the hardest though, even though I got to the Final 5 times in my last 6 seasons and won it 4 times. Lol sorry for rambling on too long again.
I am hanging on by a thread in the game just to support friends when I feel like logging in. I am about to max out my ground on my old account.
And yes, I simply am not dedicated enough to use associations, I have to use more rests, watch more ads if they become available, I hate watching the 40 ads even though they take about 25 minutes to watch because it is such a mundane action, you are wasting 25 minutes of your life watching ads for games that you most likely will never download. I have 1,000 better things I could be doing than spending 25 minutes a day watching ads.
I wouldn’t be able to keep up training all my players for long periods of time, that means I would spend about 10 hours a day on the game.
Also spending hours on end on the auction list looking for the perfect players kills me on the inside, that is so boring.
Some people on the forum may argue that some of my posts may take longer than watching 40 ads, yes that may be true but I enjoy posting on the forum and there are many good people here.
