I was wondering if anyone knows how your league opponents are decided? Is it based on quality, with higher rated managers in the same league? If this is the case, is there a way to ensure your league isn't too hard?
thanks

The draw is made on the last day of the season and based on the 14 highest rated players in terms of quality.
Sell all players you don't intend to keep before the season ends to ensure a lower overall quality of your 14 best players. That way, you'll get an easier draw. If the average quality of your 14 highest rated players is higher than 99 %, chances are you'll get drawn against +1 level managers in the cups.

Thanks for your help. So basically before the first day of next season (last day of this season), I should get my top 14 players to have an average percentage of just under 99% to get an easier league? Also I read that sometimes the league puts you and your friends together. Do you know if this is true? lot of my friends are the same level but high quality so I don't want a harder league
So even though it says the league fixtures are released on day 3, the draw has already been made? So I can improve my team between day 1 and 3 and it won't give me hard opposition?
Try to lower the quality of your 14 highest rated players on the last day of the season, meaning sell everyone you don't intend to use next season.
If the average is below 99 %, you won't get drawn against a team one level above you in the different cup events. You will be drawn against teams around your average quality. The more you lower your average quality, the easier the draw. The draw is made 4 days before the first fixutre on day 3. You can thus improve your team as much as you want between day 1-3 without interferring with the draw. Bear in mind that your youth academy players are accounted for in the draw. You'll have to decide whether it's worth keeping them and increasing your average (if they increase it that is) or not.
What I do is I keep my fast trainers by the end of the season and sell everyone else. This season, my fast trainer will end the season between 130-140 %. I expect my team average to be around 122-125 % by then. I will sell everyone else in order to lower my team average. Every season, I grab 2-3 young players with 3 stars to keep on the bench. I assign them a special ability or new position so that they don't gain anything from training or friendly matches (I keep a full squad to boost my team bonus to 10 % and to play friendly games in order to collect rest packs). These low rated players makes sure I always lower my average quality as much as possible. After a couple of seasons, they will be 1 star only onsiderably lowering my team average quality allowing me to have high rated players but still have a low overall average quality for my 14 highest rated players. By the end of the season, if I decide that I need more cash next season, I keep my youth academy players and sell them the next season to finance other purchases/investments. If I decide that I have enough cash, I sell them on the last day of the season as well in order for them to not increase my overall average team quality.
You have the possibility to be drawn against your friends if you're on the same server. But it's not a guarantee.
What i saw from other, they only keep their stating eleven or just keep 5 to 7 their best player and sell other accept those and their 1-3 star player..they plan already..buy many low quality 3 star player and train them with new position n special abilities to make sure they dont gain any skill/attribute..in 2 or 3 season , this player will only have 1 star..with this player, your average quality will drop n get easy draw
Yes ..just the same as you..sorry, i just notice ur message after i send my message
Thanks so much, that all makes sense. However there was just 1 bit that slightly confused me.
"Bear in mind that your youth academy players are accounted for in the draw."
Please could you just explain that bit? Does that mean the players currently in my youth academy count towards my 14 best players for next season?
Many thanks
You're welcome. Exactly, if their average quality is higher than any of your current 14 highest rated players, they're going to take one of the 14 spots and thus will be included in the draw calculation.
Just make sure you have yough low quality players in your squad and train them special ability or new role so they don't increase their skills. Sell everyone you don't intend to use the next season before the current season ends and you should be good to go.
Thank you. One final question, is the average percentage of the top 14 players calculated like a normal average? I.e add up all 14 players percentage and divide by 14?
Huh?
The adding SA/NP trick i learnt from you actually since I asked the same as this guy at the end of last season in another thread. I don't know why you'd falsely accuse me of being a troll.
And I don't have another account I play with. I stick to one active account.
Thanks for your help
i do it every season. i keep my front 3 (aml, amr,st) who are all 140% each and only white skills. and then i sell firstly the 4 positions that i know i have coming from youth next season and sell the GK and 2 mcs and replace with weaker so i end up on a safe % of 92% . i find finishing on 99% too risky (too borderline for me). so with the 4 youths i get free, all i need to buy in auctions are 4 players so my team is ready within 30 minutes on sunday morning cos i just train them back up with greenpacks that i save in a month (800).
generally my league opponents range from 40% to 75% and perhaps a competitor of around 85% max so the league is in the bag. the cup is the same with just a few teams close to me and ucl is the same too. in the past 6 seasons i've won 3 quadruples, 2 triples and a double.
I played for 10 years with high % teams and got sick of tankers in cup comps and assos. i said good bye to all that 6 months ago and haven't seen tankers since :) loving the game nowAttachment 134197
Hi Minamino
I noticed in your spread sheet you are only including 11 players, rather than 14. I was just wondering why that was?
Thanks
But we're is the fun in playing teams with such low percentages. You said it yourself the leagues in the bag before you even start so what's the point in playing. All Games are meant to challenge you, that's the point of them. I bet your the type of person who gets the latest game on PlayStation and plays it on easy and doesn't get the full experience lol. Im not have a dig at you. I just don't get it
I agree with you on tankers though. All I want from the game is if I finish the season with 95% average 14 for my opponents next season to range between 85% And 110% the same as if I finish the season on 110 for my opponents the following season to be no more than 15% lower and 20% higher. That way you have a chance to build a team to challenge the better teams. I just hate it when you get a team 40% Higher because the seasons pointless
I think that if Nordeus controlled the tankers, not as many people would manipulate draws.
Managers should not be drawn against teams at different levels, basically, all opponent's should be withing +/- 19 %.

Just to see if I can now comment in this forum
Coincido en querer evitar a los tanques, pero que sentido tiene jugar sabiendo que tienes todo fácil, o sea, que pasaste a ser el tanque de todos tus competidores
I play a lot like minamino. Except I got a lot better opponents. Is it because I'm level 73? My usual opponents in league varies between 80% and 120%. My usual overall quality goes from 110-115% to around 130%. I don't buy anything with real money. Just watching ads.
Every time a season ends, I sell all but 14 players. 11 usually good players on the field and 3 1* players to weigh down my overall quality. Though I have won like 25 leagues in a row, I get very good opponents in the champions league and in the cup. Even tankers from one level lower.
Why, you ask? I played almost 40 seasons against tankers and other op teams. I don't mind playing against very good teams, even losing to them, if they are build with honest work and good ideas. But when I work my ass of with my team, spend some of my really valuable time to this game, and then some asshole, who plays this game every 3 or 4 seasons, it really makes me angry.
And it's not just that one guy. You start noticing that every season there is an asshole like this taking away your league trophys and king of hill trophys and whatever. And it's always a different guy. By now I have gathered a bunch of good friends whom I like to play against, because they work with their teams.
Edit: And for the quote. Why wouldn't I get to the events? I just join them and win them. i'm also a captain of an association, which plays in platinum atm.
Many players manipulate event and association draws as well. Same method as minamino mentioned. Sell before draw and buy back after draw. It's a good strategy. Most keep 7 well trained 9 star players in key positions along with 7 negative quality players. Just look at the top 100 associations.
For competition draws, it depends on luck. Many strong manipulators at some levels so manipulating might backfire. Tanking might be better. If you like challenges, its better to limit improvements on your team rather than face bs draws which you have no control over.
Whatever they buy are stop gaps for short periods so i assume they buy 1 token players? With their core team of 7-9 well trained 9 star players, they can easily beat most even with their negative quality 1 star players. I doubt cost matters to them given their players are probably upsold more than 6 levels to get whites in 300s and greys at negative at age 18. Insane amount of greens required.
