    Everton are a bigger club than Liverpool Everywhere you go on Merseyside you bump into Everton supporters.

    The Souness quote used to be true up till the 80s. Everton were after all the more successful club until Shankley and Paisley came along. However, these days, more than three quarters of Merseysiders support Liverpool.
