Prevent my player from retiring?

I have this 31 year old player that wants to retire next season but i don't want him to go. he's a 7 star player who is also my all-time goalscorer and playmaker with over 900 goals and 400 assists.

Is there any way i could get a few more seasons out of him? i'd literally would offer him a 3 bill contract for 2 more seasons (80% of my budget) if it was possible.

I'm not 100% sure but as far as I know there is no way of actively delaying retirement...

It happens by itself a lot of times, when the player announces he stays one more season. Don't know when this happens though, I think after week 2.

He will probably stay one more season but you won't get a notification until a few days into his final season.

Not really. The player will still retire as planned regardless (when even a contract was signed - wish we could do that to our employers: pay me as of contract but I’m off for retirement holiday early with your pension contribution lol).

All you could hope for is the player somehow wants to extend by end of next season. Maybe giving him some candies would help. Hehe.
