Well you might as well put them where you think they would do best.

I would want a right foot shot on the left as he crosses the field left to right he would be shooting with his best foot.
This means I would want left foot shot on right side.

But for crosses it is different of course, the opposite. So it depends on the player now

Yeah, I do this. Even though I know it doesn't do anything, I still put left footed CB's left sided centre and left footed forwards right sided forward.
