My theory is the more a player spends, the smaller their penis.

I agree, it's a personal choice and if there are chickens it is right to pluck them.
Personally if I have to spend money for a game I prefer to go to the casino so that I have some chance to win something real.
As I understood that it's a pay for win game and that if you don't spend money you have very few probability to win, one of my objectives is to make cry some spender when I succeed in.
The advantage you have spending is so high that you cannot compete if you don't spend. This is the reason why leagues should be redesigned like associations with promotions and relegations.
Of course than league system should be redesigned to something similar as association model. This would solve a lot of problems. Now you climb ladders with unlimited levels with no benefits or even disadvantages because you lost -20% every time. And vice versa you relegate and your players not lost anything. This is weird thing.
Oh you say when team from championship climb to premier league they look weak but you know there are only few divisions and when you reach highest, you cannot climb more. And there are unlimited divisions/levels. That's why asso model would be way better to make nice structure.
Same should be done with players statistics. Now properly trained player with 5stars can look way better than player with 7 stars.
Well spending is not bad as it's personal but the training rate to increase a player stats should be increase because at the end of every season the player level is always decreased by nearly 1.5 which is bad and makes you look for 90 above players to buy in other to win games.
Training should increase a 80% players to at most 120% from the beginning to the end of the season as only young players are allowed to develop rapidly while aged players remains static

I just checked out his team. He finished 4th last season in league so not a tanker. Don’t think he is a tanker based on his stats.
I have beaten and lost to +-40 quality teams. Its possible. Just do your best as the engine sometimes helps us. There is a reason why he didnt do too well last season and for his entire TE career despite being spendthrift.

I've been playing for almost a year now.
The only things I buy are the Monthly Card ($4.99 for 100 tokens) & the Premium Special Sponsor (also $4.99) - so basically $10 per month. Not sure if that makes me a P2W player?
I have also done some of the tasks in Free Tokens to boost up my tokens. But they tend to be bit of a time suck so avoid them if I have enough tokens.
I do as many Ad watching as I can - Rest - 25 & Morale 15. I now only spend my tokens on Youth Training, and I use my accumulated rests to train up 21 & under players.
My goal each season is to start with a 1st team average of around 100% and by seasons end I am usually up to 120% or so.
With this I have been successful so far - top 4 in the league in every season, Overall 6 league wins, 3 Champions League & 2 Cups.
However, I think I have been fairly lucky with my league opponents - only 1 or 2 seasons with opponents that are off the charts.
Champions League is another story - always at least 2 or 3 that are clearly paying lots of money. This season I am in a group with a team that is at 143.5% - he has 8 players at 8 stars or better. Just played him at home today and lost 0-10. But I just played my second team as I knew my first team had no chance either (currently around 113%).
I feel like a little bit of spending goes a long way but to compete with the kind of team I played today would take a ridiculous amount of cash.
