How would you play against 3(W)-1(DMC)-2(MC)-1(AMC)-3 (narrow diamond with three wide defenders and three strikers)?

I'm thinking of going with 4-5-1 V-style. What would you do?

4-3-3 can be beaten by 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond!

Lately im facing lots of 3N-1-4-2 and i must say that 4-5-1V just doesnt work .. idk if its because of my settings but do u have any other viable counter for this formation ? i think the best way was to use 3N-2-2-2-1 butterfly with both flank settings .. must test it right now

    Hi,

Has anyone come across this formation.

    4-2DMC-AML-AMR-AMC-1

So to confirm, that's a flat back 4, 2 DMC and no midfielders. Instead he is playing 3 attacking midfielders and one up front.

It was clear this was going to be a counter attacking formation so I was cautios, played 4-5-1 diamond with force counter attack but having taken the lead he beat me 2-1. 2nd leg in champions league semi final is tomorrow with me away from home.

FYI I have the better team. Was thinking of flooding the midfield, something like 4-5-1 or even 4-3-1-2 but wary of not having a DMC. Any thoughts?

With 3N I would think you need more than 1 striker. You could try the attacking 4-4-2 with the two wide players AML/AMR instead of ML/MR. That way you will have the two strikers to trouble the 3 DC and the width. My concern with this is the DMC could have an upward arrow which could leave you overrun in midfield on attacks as it would make it 3MC. I suspect his ML/MR have up arrows too so his attacking formation will look more like 3-3-2AML/AMR-2.

the counter table is flaw: 3-5-2 doesn't work against 5-4-1, especially when your opponent is playing with counter attack and hard defensive

    just saying
