Yeah, and for bonus training ::) I keep them.

After some time, this thread needs an update !
So, now at season 89 we have few new things
League draw : The league draw now is starting with the (new season) server maintenance and not day 3.
https://forum.topeleven.com/top-elev...-happened.html
There is a big chance that teams with the same quality put together in the same league. If you want some easy opponents, you must have a really low q team before the new season.
If you have friends from the same server and level, the chances to be together in the same league are very low if you have different quality.
My team RINOKEROS had a strong League, with 12 good teams.
NIK had only 4 descent teams so i made a good record of 26-0-0 plus impressive G.D.
Attachment 77813
A team with quality above 120% is very possible to face super tanking teams in next season.
That means the next championship will not be in his hands but the mood of the tanking super opponents.
If they will play with their good team against you or your league rivals.
Champions league draw
There are some months where the league winner is placing in a higher level CH.L. next season. It’s not 100% but very possible.
Before 2 seasons, the rule was the league winner in a CH.L. with +1 lv teams which finished 2/3/4th in their leagues.
But from previous season this also changed. A league winner can play with a 2th league winner from a lv bellow.
There is no obvious criterion (despite this comment there).
My team last seasons dropped quality (4* avg) and had good Cup draw but still was playing vs 6*-7* +1 lv teams in CH.L.
My thought is that (maybe) there is some hidden factor for a team. Lucky or not – haha
more details here
https://forum.topeleven.com/top-elev...tml#post443418
Update- the CL draw has to do with the quality only and not the position you had in previous season league.
Cup draw :
It also changed from previous season. The general idea is that you can play with teams from a +- 1 level.
Still dropping quality can help but not so much.
A team with low q can play with low q teams from a +1 lv, when a high q team will play with stronger oppo from +1 lv. A very low q team, can play with high q teams from a lv bellow.
Also can happen to play with the same teams as League or CH.L.
RINOKEROS in the Cup had some teams from that and previous season League, as the team I played in previous season final (all with the same lv and q about 6* ).
If you observe the Cup opponents at day 1, it's very possible to see many of them in your League.
Attachment 77814
same season league teams
Attachment 77815
and from previous season
Attachment 77816
Super league : if you were in a +1 lv CH.L. and finished at 3rd position in the group, you ‘ll continue in a + 1 lv in Super league too.
Of course there, the managers aren’t so strong and active so you can have few more chances to go for the trophy.
If someone made a tanking and win the S.L. , next season can have good chances for the treble as he will start with a good q and gonna play in a same lv CH.L. too.
Another successful method (I used that previous season), is not to win the league cup on purpose, so to avoid next season the +1 lv CH.L.
Attachment 77817
Of course not to be unlucky too, because it’s not 100% sure.
Yeah, I never really indulge in bidding wars. Over the last two seasons, I've realised those two star players are useful. Sometimes they actually perform well. But I never renew their contract so by the end of the season, their contract ends and they go. Old players who are already 31 and above are going to retire soon, but I never sell them unless I need to make space. I always let them retire, they come in handy with injuries red cards and wotnot. But they get tired easily, and cannot play every single game. I'm in the Cup final this season, and I pray I win cause I've never won it as a manager. For like two seasons I never even got past first stage. Champions League I've never got past the Quarter Finals, and I only got to the quarter finals this season. I've never been knocked out at the group stages, but for three consecutive seasons got knocked out at the Round of 16. Compared to some users here, my portfolio ain't that impressive-
2 League titles
1 Super League title
a mini summary
April was the last month of the old version.
I was disappointed from this and with the +1 CH.L. draws (https://forum.topeleven.com/top-elev...aw-system.html)
and decided to stay for 4-5 seasons.
meanwhile I have read for many "troll" results in the forum and started a thread to search it more.
https://forum.topeleven.com/top-elev...ad-season.html
But it seems that things were about the same, just the usual 1-2 troll results in a season.
Last season (93) I activate the team again, won the league but lost in the Cup final.
Last season I dropped quality (I had many players 8* from tanking those seasons)
Attachment 84995
bought some new players, played in a same (and -1) LV Cup , the same with CH.L. and won them both.
So I won the treble.
Attachment 84996
Last day of the season, I also sold some players to go for the next draw with lower q.
From 14 high q players, i kept 8 and those low q ex-academy players
Attachment 84998
73% is the q of the starting 11
Attachment 84997
EDIT: Nevermind, I saw in your picture that you do that at the last day of the season. Sorry, should have looked closer. :)
Hi Nik!
73% before the start of the new season or afterwards?Quote:

The general idea is that a team which will finish - last night (the avg of 14 higher q players with contract or not)
... 6* near to 7* (110-120%) in a +1 lv Cup or CH.L.
... 5* to 6* (100%) depends from the LV , the server and luck
... less than 5* ( 80% <) in an easy league and a same/-1 lv in Cup/ CH.L.
Above aren't strict but very possible (for a normal lv, not in the top of the server).
Nik, so right now I have 6 8* players who form my core team, 10 7*, including 5 subs. And 9 trash players between 2 - 3*'s that I retain over the seasons.
I set the trash team before end of season & have a squad quality between 30 - 50% usually, depending on how many extras I can offload & replace. My A team is usually between 115 - 120 at the start of season.
I'm still drawing against +1 levels in Cup & CL every season. Moreover I have a 145+ title contender & a 180+ tanker in my league this season. The 180+ also knocked me out of the Cup. It's usually the same story almost every season.
Any suggestions on how I can make the draw easier or should I just tank a season & go in with a 140+ team?

If you 're thinking that putting your 2*-3* players in the first squad and the high q players in the bench, just said that this "trick" doesn't work.
The game will "read" the top 14 high q players no matter their positions.
So you must keep 7 high q players and the rest 2*-3* players.
For a test, to have some idea, you must set 6 high q players and 5 low q and see what is the team value against an opponent in a next game.
If your q is low 5* or under, you 're gonna have a good draw meaning
- In your league you 'll avoid those two opponents
- in the Cup also you 'll avoid Jurgen
- in the CH.L. you 'll have same or -1 lv.
The same lv teams won't be monster teams but you might have a high q team from a lv bellow.
They key to success (or at least to have good chances because you know, this is T11 haha) are
- find some young fast trainers and invest to them in the beginning, so to add some extra positions and 2-3 roles.
Add some quality so to have them as 7* the 3rd-4th week of the season and keep them for 4-5 seasons
- sign and keep seven 0T academy players and keep them till their retirement.
- the first day of the season (or 2nd), when you have your team ready, you already have the plan which you 're gonna keep or send at the end of the season and invest your greens by that.
This is my team at day 2 of the season.
I already know whom to keep and whom to sell last day (green - red box)

Hi Nik,
I liked your posting but did not react to it it so far. :) So thank you for your advice
I am planing to try this whole approach because (as you are surely aware of through my other thread) I want to get a better ore more managable draw. Just wanted to leave a "thank you" here and let's see, what the new season will bring.
I created an excel sheet to see how strong my team will be when including my best 14 players while selling a lot of them but I won't come under 95%. I think I will try it nevertheless and see what the new season will bring,
My main issue is, that I am missing really low quality players (from the academy). I will have to gather them in the next seasons and not sell them.
Thanks again Nik! I will probably start a new thread in the forum to display my experiences with this approach. :)
Best,
Nidd
Yes, those academy players you see in my pic (27,29,30 y.o.) aren't 1* but -4*, -6*, -7*
Those are the real "key" players - lol
Haha yeah, I'll have to gather them over the time. :) They do help a lot to reduce the strength I guess.
Best,
Nidd
Heh my A team right now, after an intensive few seasons is hitting 140+ ratings & the oldest of the lot are a couple of 24, 25 yo, with the bulk U23. So unlikely that I'll be able to implement this right away, as I've worked hard to get them to where they are. I love my digital pixels & can't cut them ruthlessly ! xD
I'll try this on a 2nd team that I'm usually too lazy to operate & check how it goes. For my first team, I suppose I'll continue drawing tankers & ridiculously high rated teams till my team is too old to maintain. -_-

Day 26 of the season and a day before the contest vs Mourinho's team is over.
Here you can see the general avg of the team with 7 low q academy players (plus two academy players of this season which I intend to sell tomorrow).
The quality of the 11th squad is near to 7*, I played and won the Cup final vs a lv below team and tomorrow also I 'm playing vs a -1 lv team in CH.L. final.
League is secure (before 7-8 days), treble is on the table (if not get a hard troll  )
Attachment 86246
I wanted to thank all of you who are in charge of creating guides as interesting as this one. Thanks to them I have managed to win the league and for the first time also the cup. The treble was near :D
I have to agree with keta! :) I've learned a lot here in the forums! So thank you as well. :)
@Nik: Just one more question: Do you think it is worthwile to drop the strength of my best 14 players from 113% to 95%? I know I wrote before that I will try it but it does hurt a little bit to toss them out of the team and simultaneously not to be sure whether it will have a significant impact on the draw. ^^
Thanks in advance!
Best,
Nidd
really don't know.
I suppose it depends from luck, which lv and server you are.
Another approach of winning the treble is to have a very strong team and some extra sources.
For example I have a reserve team at lv one. Staying there on purpose, playing only for the Cup and associations.
(I 'm just waiting at some time to activate it again but not soon).
This team has a basic 12th squad of 130%.
In the league I could be the top dog, the same in the Cup where I 'm facing teams from lv2 but not stronger than mine.
In CH.L. there is a possibility to face a strong active team and get disqualified.
Also as happened to Palash Mitra , to face a strong tanking team or an (asso) tanking team in the Cup.
But if you are facing many good active teams, it's very possible to have a bad day/a bad role dice or just loose concentration which is the most important.
(for example when I 'm playing in an easy league, doesn't matter if I didn't had the time to switch my 11th squad and play with the same 11 tired players. But in a competitive league, it's something you could pay for).
Anyway, it's a matter of philosophy - lol
I believe a logic target for every good, active manager is to win for once the treble.
Then, maybe two more trebles so to get the achievement (LV1 is one treble, LV2 is 3 trebles, LV3 is 10 trebles).
After that you can play as you want as 10 trebles is for hardcore players.
Like me hahaha
I started at levels 2-3-4 with doubles , loosing in quarter or semi-finals of the cup for teams 2 levels above.
Then Beckstar started this thread so I won my 1st treble at lv5.
Then, I kept running, like Forest Gumb.
he started running and arrived at West (Pacific) coast and then he turned around and started running till the East (Atlantic) coast.
And then one day he stopped - lol.
So I won 10 trebles, now two more as I 'm going for another 10.
So, back to business
I won the treble (the 12th)
My CH.L. final was a tough one even if my opponent was one lv bellow and almost 1,5-2* difference.
But he is good manager, active and present in the game.
Scored two goals in the beginning and had to make magic things to won the game.
Really the quality difference cannot secure any game, specially if opponent manager is good and present .
I also won once a team +3* in a cup final.
Attachment 86282
So, after my CH.L. and as League is secure, I started selling some players.
Attachment 86283
I start early as in auto selling there is some delay if you have to sell many players so I don't want to risk it tomorrow at night still having many high q players in the squad.
I know, it's hard to sell some good players.
Zico, a star
Attachment 86284
Jansen, is a player I bought from the scout (55 tokens).
He did his job and now must go.
It was a successful investment - that's the most important.
Attachment 86285
* Beckstar (who wrote this guide) and me are in the same asso group so he loan me 3 players to play our tournament :o
So after selling, the team finished with 8 high q players and 7 low (but 6 of them count for the 14th squad)
Attachment 86513
This gives 68% q for the basic team
Attachment 86514
so the first day of the season, with those 7* players (who are 6* now) and the new players I bought, I have ready a 6* team against some opponents -1lv (and *)
Attachment 86515
But if you see the quality of the teams, you can observe that even we have one star quality, the number of q of the teams is near (185 vs 177) so I still must be very concentrate
Attachment 86516
I've won the 5th treble, and surely Im not going to stop untill 10 😃
Trimis de pe al meu SM-A510F folosind Tapatalk
me too.
Just wanna try with a team lower than 7* quality.
It looks I 'll have an interesting League draw
Attachment 86598
League draw rules are to me a complete black box. My league ranges from 50% to 150% quality, mainly made out of tanking teams (like mine). But with a treble winner too who must be pissed out to have to face both the monster and me...
Hi nik,
I dropped my quality lower than 80% on Saturday and I bought more than 10 5* players on Sunday to reach the quality of 90%.
The cup draw includes many 30-40% teams, but the league draw has equal teams (half of them).
Have you noticed something similar? When does the league draw take place?
Tnx.

Answering to those two posts above:
League draw is with the maintenance as Cup and CH.L. too (the latest months - 2017).
Quality affects also the League draw (it's the first priority) but there can be some other parameters, for example
- "Friendship" : if a week team from your league have a good q team as friend (same level) there is a chance to drug him in your league
- The grouping of teams with same quality (or lv) sometimes doesn't make "exact" numbers.
For example a group of +1 lv plus high quality teams of your same lv are 33 teams in CH.L.
Then you (or some one else) will go down in a lower lv group (of 32 weaker teams).
The same can happen in Cup or League too
Oh nooo...
I did write a huge posting regarding my latest experience with the reduction of the team's quality at the end of the season but it got closed and is now gone... :(
Right now I am angry but I will try to do it some other time.
The take home message was: it was worth it!
Okay, after my whole previous posting was accidentally "deleted" (browser's fault) I calmed down and I'm doing a second try... :) My feedback will be lot shorter because I did not save my statistics into another file and just put them in here. It did took a lot of time and I will try to focus only on the important stuff. So sorry in advance for my spelling/orthography but I don't want to spend another 45 minutes to write this accordingly.
Thanks Nik (again^^) for your insights and for sharing your train of thoughts.
I did decide to try reducing the quality of my best 14 players and I ended with 95%. I stayed with ten strong players of my main formation und only four low quality players remained to reduce the overall strength (average quality of them was 41,25%). Therefore my team had a strength of 75% at the beginning of the current season. Luckily I got a recommended (and also needed and therefore really appreciated) player on the first day in the season. Additionally I've bought a few 18yo fast trainers and I did manage to catch up quite fast at the first day and got already again a strength of 99%. On the second day I bought a few more fast trainers, trained them some new positions and special abilities and pushed the most important players to 100% (to a sum of 102% of my main squad). The outcome was great because I was on the second day only slightly worse in terms of quality than in my last season (I've ended back then with 118% and wanted to stick with my team but therefore got drawed to a really hard league; see below).
I already stated that it was worth it, but here are some insights and the current outcome regarding my current season (in a shorter version, because my whole statistics are gone unfortunately):
a) League: Strongest one (right now with an average of 103%); only four teams are between 80% and 90%. Two have around 70% and the rest between 30% and 50%.
b) Cup: The first time in my career I am the strongest one (at this moment). Three players have 80-90% and three other players 90-100%. The rest should be quite manageable. The most managers are from my same level and only a few are -1.
c) CL: Only four players do have at this moment between 80% and 90%. But it could change of course. Last season I played in my league with a lot of (obviously) token buyers and they pushed their quality within a day from 105% to 115%. The strongest opponents are from the lower manager league. Most of them are in the same manager league.
Overall, I am really satisfied with the outcome and hopefully I can achieve the triple crown for the first time. It was definitively worth it but the negative aspect so far is, that I do have a lot of problems to win convincingly against really poor teams. I don't know why this should be an issue but maybe the adjustment of my tactics are wrong for such opponents.
Lastly: I befriended at the end of the last season I manager who ultimately became second in our league (me: third) and therefore I can catch a glimpse right now what my season could have been looked like when not reducing my strength (by the way, here is my not yet updated thread regarding my experiences with quality token buyers:https://forum.topeleven.com/top-elev...l#post468508):
Holy crap, it's again crazy out there!I was grouped with seven of them last season and some of them went really crazy with buying scout players back then at the first day. And it seems that they did it again (as far as I can tell by viewing their teams and comparing them to the last season). To put that whole thing into perspective: The worst player has got 73%. Afterwards we have got four players between 90% and 100%. Then four players between 100% and 110% and the rest does have even more than that. Wow.... I'm really happy to not be again in such of a group. Despite my lacking 15% quality I did achieve to end at the third place last season but it was no fun at all and quite stressful.
I am sorry but I am too lazy to write everything down again after my browser betrayed me. ^^ I have had put down a lot more statistics and information (before it went into nirvana) but please feel free to ask me whenever you've felt something was unclear or you would like to have some more details regarding a specific topic.
Best,
Nidd
Okay, I may be stupid or smth but tell me how the heck Owen and the rest have the same nr of stars in the new season as the last season?
It took me 20 seasons to stumble upon this thread :DD
Now i know why i never have a cup but 7 leagues and 4 Cl's
This season am in the semis with a 4:0 advantage before the second leg. Hopefully i will make it this time.
Many thanks for all your comments. Will be more prepared for the coming season :)
Has something changed ????
I ended the season at 72% of the overall team quality and in CH.L. I have an opponent that ended the season with a quality of 120-130%. The Cup is all O.K.
Have there been any changes to the draw or the overall team quality must be below 70/60%?
What lv are you ?
At higher levels (near the top of the server) quality draw doesn't work like before as there are few teams and the game must create CH.L. groups of 32 teams.
Also, if this team is one lv bellow, he probably had a stronger team, but still there is a limit of +-1 lv.
So, this guy has q 140-150% and playing in a +1 lv.
Another scenario is the in the group of 32 teams, 28-30 have similar q but as there aren't enough teams with this q, the game takes 3-4 teams above or bellow to complete the 8 groups.
35 level
I 'm 38 and my draw is the same style as previous seasons.
So probably it's the scenario 2 or 3.
What lv is that team ? What he did in previous season ?
Something had to be changed !!!
I do not believe I was not lucky to draw.
I don't mean you @Tomáš Smetana, I mean the other team, with that high qualityQuote:
What lv is that team ? What he did in previous season
Niko is not one team but all CH.L. About half of the opponents ended up with 110-130% last season and I 72% ......... why do I have them for my rivals?
then I guess the answer is this
your team (and some others) was chosen to complete a higher q CH.L. group.Quote:
Another scenario is the in the group of 32 teams, 28-30 have similar q but as there aren't enough teams with this q, the game takes 3-4 teams above or bellow to complete the 8 groups.
Another question, just to be sure.
Did you sell you high q players before go for sleep (Saturday night) or left the team with some players in selling option (meaning that maybe they have been sold after the draw) ?
Yes ... so it will probably be
1 player I sold in my sleep, the rest of the team was sold.
But here I think it was okay because I have a very weak opponent in the league .... 30-60% Just do not have luck in the draw
Hi!
What about old players, that go retire after the season? I need to have 14 players with them or they don't really count?
