The Myth of good and bad players

Many managers claim that some players are good and some bad.
Well, I will start a separate thread as a part of that one

because I 'll gather many different examples and we have a lot to talk about it.

Ok, let's start.

I 'm out of the CL at semi finals - a double draw from a team -35% quality after 2 draws (with away goal rule).
So this team has the chance to win his first CL (and me not the 39th - lol).

His player Martinez was the motm
Does it mean that Martinez is a "good" player ?
No, he is not a good player


My AML and ST Ibrahimovic and Weah got a very low rate.
Are they "bad" players ?
Of course not.





But they are not good either.
They have some high q because I train them and they have some good stats because usually I 'm playing with teams like that and I dominate the games because I 'm active and have much better quality avoiding high q teams.

Are they "bad" players ?





no, but they are not "good" either.
That's why I 'm gonna sell Robinho after my asso games,
because he is old and harder to keep his quality at that level (which would give me some advantage)
and because I have to drop my quality to avoid the +1 LV opponents or tankers
and because Adriano is younger and gonna replace him with the same success
and because Robinho and Adriano are not "good" or "bad" players.

I am playing the game 35 seasons with the same formation.I bought hundreds of strikers
none of them was great, whatever quality they had.
From the other hand all my wingers was great players and i never had a bad player
that his overall rating perfomance through the season was below 7.
So i believe that a player rating is strongly connected with position,formation and ofcourse
the overall quality of the team that we use.

Exactly , it's the positions.
There isn't any "successful" (I 'm not using the word "good") GK or ST in TE - unless you 're using them for corners, free-kicks or penalties.

I agree Nik. The player you advised me to keep. My fastest trainer who performed very badly last season is one of my best players this season. Lucky i kept him. No good or bad, game engine decides who performs. Btw, he still plays AMC for me

Totally agree. I have a ST who performed badly in ST role but when I played him out of position as AML, he was MOM.

Performance of any of the equally good players will be heavily affected by your formation and the formation of your opponent in each match. If you are, for example, playing 4-1-4-1 with 1 ST against 4-2(DMC)-1-2-1, I doubt the ST will score a lot but your wingers could and they will become MOMs...

My personal opinion is that the good player is the one that is great & stable on the season run and he does not need to have all 10s. If he gains skills from games as I would expect him to (being a fast trainer) and delivers an expected performance - he is a good player. Still, he will do it only if all other players are equally good

Yes, a fast trainer is a standard value.
If you have to choose between a fast trainer and an old "good performer" , choose the ft without any doubt. Then find a way to use him.
