but the one he posted has ML and MR whereas the one I posted had 3 MC's,so would it still be considered wide?

    Sorry. Left out the MC-MC-MC...

Hmm.. It's not considered wide in the case. It looks like a modified diamond. As weird as the 2 formations I were asking abt...

What time is your match? Hope the experienced tacticians here can help in time.

Mine is in a few hours time.

    Hi iradical,
I am not much experienced yet, but reading this tread makes me believe that 4-3-2-1 is the formation you need.
You need 4 defenders to cover his 2 attackers. He should be playing with red on his middle MC, (and probably on DL and DR) so you need good players in the middle. Put your MC with higher defense in the center. If your AMR and AML have high crossing and shooting - excellent. If not - try replacing the AML/AMR with a ST player with hight crossing/shooting - I mean putting an ST to play as attacking wing. When using 4-3-2-1 attacking wings are more important than ST. Left footed AML is better than right footed

You can play with any mentality you want - you will score either way, but if you see the opponent making counter attacks try playing more careful/defensive. I hope this helps.

    ---------ST-------
    AML---------AMR
    ---MC-MC-MC---
    --DL-DC-DC-DR--

PS: Also you can try pressing him on the whole pitch, attacking (mixed or both flanks), mixed passing, zonal marking.

    Hello, new day, new problem.

My opponent is stronger then me:

I think I can reach a draw, winning could be difficult.

What are you thinking? Is this possible or should I change my setting?

    Hello all,

I have an important game - quarter final championship against 4-3-2-1. Opponent have very good MCs, excellent AML, AMR and exceptional RD and left DC. Decent 3 stars right DC and central ST.

Usually I am using the same 4-3-2-1 formation and I have all wins but 2 draws. Anyway his team is better than me, except that I have better Mcs.

Thinking about how to win the game, I come up with this:
    DR---DC---DL
    DML------DMR
    MR---MC---ML
    -----------AMR
    ---ST-------
with own half, mixed attack and passing, defensive (I am guest)

But I have no suitable players so this is what I could do (look left to right):

    DL DML --- ---
    --- --- MC>--- ST
    <DC --- MC>--- ---
    -- DMC MC>--- ---
    DR ---<MR ---

    Defensive mentality, mixed passing.
Please advice and thanks in advance
