Hi,
How do I counter 4-1-3-2 narrow?

DM (6*)
MC (6*)-MC-MC
ST-ST
Opponent average team rating: 23.2
My team average team rating: 22.9
Thanks!

Firstly it is not the butterfly.
Most players on here only know how to counter generic formations.
This takes a bit of thought and thinking outside the box.
It's strong in the centre and the flanks are only exposed either side of the DMC's.
Without knowing your squad and the strength of his it's difficult to give you help.

Hi! Can my formation 3-2-2-1-2 (DC-DMR DML-MC-AMC-ST) be effective against 4-1-3-1-1 (DL DR - DMC-MC-AMC-ST)
With whole pitch attacking mentality, mixed passing, short passing style, zonal marking, offside trap. And attacking arrows on st and amc.

We both have the same quality, but 3-4 of his players are out of position. Using the 4-5-1v is not an option since I read through both forums that it is the absolute worst formation against the so called butterfly formation.
Hi all, great work being done on this thread!!!
I'm currently using 4-5-1V against most squads, I think it's a quite good one.
I'm having some drawbacks against diamond formations.
Would you use it against 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond? What about against wide diamond version? Which orders would you select for a weaker/stronger team?
Thanks!!!
Cheers,
Paulo Bento.
I would not disagree with that but like I said that is not the butterfly.
This is the butterfly.

Which when you look at it is probably the best one to counter his 3W 2-2-2-1 with and actually have a decent stab at scoring to boot.
