442 is the only formation that dont became ilegal If any of the player sees a red.

But of course you dont expect to see reds in everygame.

You are so right, it is the best for that. But I hate 4 4 2 though so usually leave my team in this Maple Leaf variant:

My D line rarely gets a card so I don't (didn't! watch it happen after I said this) worry too much about a ejection for them.
