4-3n-3, attacking, middle, long ball usually works for me against 3w-1-2n-3w-1. Some other narrow formations may work well here as well.
4-5-1v, defensive, flanks, long/mixed usually works...

The problem is: you INDEED promoted even if you did not plan to. You made the classical failed tanking mistake: if you tank, aim for spot 10 or lower, never for 9! It's all written in the in-game...

Old TM is better than current one.
