It's never easy to say goodbye to one of your best players in the past when they get old and deemed not good enough anymore, I know that feeling!

Shame that he was forced to go, but that' s how it works in T11 (especially if you're a T-buyer). What was his market.value? Could get at least x3 the price on the market, but maybe you prefer getting some T on the deal instead?

it allowe me to take 50 more greens (i had 36 t left) and money aint an issue: i started with 50m, bought 5 young players, sold 4 oldies, and now i'm on +60m. Plenty considering CL money and tanking the season. His value was about 11m.

This is what I don't get about this game, Max age is 34 for retirement, And players over 30 are considered DEAD due to their horrific training speeds, even between 26-29 in the third training bracket its slow. Thats why I say 26+ is a old man in Top Eleven.
