Well folks it's that time again...
July Fourth Season Review
July Fourth Season Summary (Game Season 46, My Season 24, My Level 24)
League
Final Position 1st Played 26 Won 24 Drawn 2 Lost 0 GF 115 GA 10 GD +105
We managed to continue last seasons unbeaten run since our loss to les guerriers early last season to extend our league unbeaten run to 50 games and only 1 loss in 136 games, Quite predictively we won the league unbeaten and scored so many goals this season which is our best since L13, QFC and Pongping FC (Thai Team) were the 2 teams that drew against us and we needed to come from behind in both games to get those draws.
Champions League
Final Position Winner Played 13 Won 8 Drawn 2 Lost 3 GF 37 GA 12 GD +25
Our Champions League campaign was very mixed but it was a succesful one in the end, We had a difficult time in the group stages placing second and losing both games against Rumble Fish who also would make the final later on themselves, We then had a hard fought win over Juventud Unida in the last 16 in the second leg, Like wise an away goals progression was needed after a 2-1 away win at LaFruta before losing 1-0 at home against them in the 2nd, Both LaFruta and Juventud had strong power support, then in the final week of the season we found our best form, there was an 8-1 aggregate win over defending champions ΟΦΗ before we played out our 2nd best performance in a final ever with amazing 8-1 win over Rumble Fish.
Cup
Final Position Winner Played 13 Won 10 Drawn 2 Lost 1 GF 43 GA 10 GD +33
July Fourth started the Cup campaign with easy wins over pilot and fc.gisi and then made heavy work in the Cup to reach the Semi-Finals, Lead 2-0 going into the 2nd leg against JuventusFloresti at home and they played a great game to go 3-1 infront and just about to knock us out then Petersen saved the day with a goal in 88th minute to take us through, We didn't have too much trouble rolling over les guerriers before we had the battle of the titans with El Capo, The first leg was tied 1-1, Then we fought back from a goal down to win the 2nd leg 3-1 to progress, then a 4-0 win in the first leg against ZAMO VIGO booked our place in the final against Jon Utd, We pulled out one of the greatest performances you are likely to see anywhere to win 9-1.
Total Games in all 3 competitions: Played 52 Won 42 Drawn 6 Lost 4 GF 195 GA 32 GD +163
After last seasons disappointing season and this seasons heavy power training projects we done, There was only going to be one outcome to this season that would ensure that this was a successful season for July Fourth and that would be winning the TREBLE. We almost were eliminated in both the Cup and CL at one stage, but as great Champions do, they pull through when the backs are to the wall, The league was a walk in the park and those 2 finals we played this season we very impressive. When you back at what happened at the end of this season, July Fourth fans will want remember this alongside our other great achievements.

Performance of the Season
Jon Utd 1-9 July Fourth (Cup Final) This has not got to be just the performance of this season, But possibly the greatest performance of all-time for July Fourth, we got an early goal and then got 3 more before HT, just when you would thought we were done we rallied on further in the second and put away every chance we had of scoring a goal, Jon Utd are 7*149 average for the starting XI and July Fourth were a 'Different Class' here.
Honourable Mention: July Fourth 8-1 Rumble Fish (CL Final) Any other season and this would of won the performance of the season award, but because of the Cup Final sadly it was outdone, the game was almost a carbon copy by the score line, July Fourth lead 5-0 at HT and were in control, we did gave away a penalty for Rumble Fish's consolation and wen't close right at the end and came close to replicating the Cup Final score from a day earlier.
Disappointment of the season
July Fourth 2-3 JuventusFloresti (Cup 3rd Round, 2nd Leg) & July Fourth 0-1 LaFruta (CL Quarter-Final, 2nd Leg)
These 2 games we under performed and allowed our opponents a great chance of knocking us out of both the Cup and CL respectively, The Cup we survived due to Petersen scoring in the 88th minute otherwise we would of lost on away goals, In the CL we barely hung on defensively and couldn't counter LaFruta and the 1-0 defeat was enough to keep us in the competition by the away goals rule.
July Fourth Young Player Of The Season
Yossi Benayoun. Our new midfielder that was signed at the beginning of the season generally didn't disappoint all season and he even took an early lead in the race to the TGS, but during mid-season he went a bit quiet but came back and scored more goals near the end of the season when we picked our form back up again, He was always going to the most likely winner of this award by a long way.
July Fourth Players Review and Player Of The Season
I'd normally say you need a great alround performaning team to win a treble, but I must admit I was actually quite disappointed with 3 of my players this season, both my GK's (Knight and Banks) scored horrible ratings in some games but they rotated games between the sticks this season, Hogan in defence has started his decline this season due to age and it was noticeable he made many mistakes costing us a few goals and didn't defend as well as he has done in the past, Our other defenders were excellent to be fair, Regal was in good form second half of the season as with Lamb who is Learning all the time, Lenoil was good but not anywhere near last seasons performances. Ramirez did a good job this season despite opportunities to play becoming increasingly more limited and Martin had a decent debut season. Midfield was were it was at and what made the treble happen, Watson, Miku-Zidane, Benayoun (as mentioned earlier) were excellent this season, Miku once again had an average season but did chip in with a few goals, Striker wise, Papaleo was close to the 40 goal mark this season after a relatively slow start to the season, Pietropaolo managed to hit 11 goals in the 18 games he played in this season... A good recovery after last seasons struggle. O'Light, Senna and O'Sullivan were rarely used backups this season.
3RD... CHANO PETERSEN
Chano Petersen was indeed a very important player again for us and he even broke Zidanes assist record that stood for some time with 39, However I noticed a dip in form around mid season and he didn't register any assists for about 10 games, but he rallied towards the end of the season to break the record, I feel he had a good season BUT he could of been better.
2ND... AL CALAVICCI
Admiral Al once again in defence is putting in performances that are keeping in him the starting line-up for most games this season, I was quick to notice this in a league game earlier in the season when he got MOTM after that he kept on putting on some great defensive performances that even some good sides like ΟΦΗ and El Capo found it hard to score past us in the big games. Another couple more MOTM's and I think he would of been our POTS winner again this season.
THE JULY FOURTH PLAYER OF THE SEASON IS...
Ryogo Kusama
It was very difficult to choose between Kusama and Calavicci this season for POTS, I felt that Kusama was the player that was the most important in making this season so successful this season, since he is a versatile Midfield/Striker he can be moved around tactically anytime on the pitch if needed, and everytime we played Kusama either as a midfielder or a striker he was putting in great performances that were driving us forward, He killed off a number of ties in the Cup and CL this season with a few braces, and when you do that you are going to be in major contention to win POTS. He was very consistent this season and delivered plenty of goals that counted a long way to our success this season, I think Kusama was the player that made it happen for us and thus I'm giving him POTS this season.
Off The Pitch Performance
The same can be said about this season as well as last season for this...
Cash wise July Fourth are sound, We still make a fortune by playing friendlies each and every day and we can afford the win bonuses and player wages and we still have close to the maximum amount of $ allowed and it's not a problem for us.
July Fourth ended the season with a fan base of 7,348,979.
Board Meeting
The board has made an extra 1,531T available for July Fourth to invest on their squad for next season on training, The main reason that investment was made was due to the fact the board want to see July Fourth put up a good defence off all 3 trophies next season.
