Hiya, Marc. Hope you had a great season and more than your fair share of injuries, yellows and losses.

Each manager plays the game they see fit. If it gives them satisfaction, so be it, who am I to judge them. Progress is an evolution and time concept. I see this game as 2-3 years, so there is no rush. The main thing is that I learn from my mistakes and attempt to make some contribution while doing so.
If you repeat a level more than once, it is no poor reflection on anyone other than yourself. Your elders, nor your young'uns are not involved. The choices you make are yours and yours alone, as long as there is satisfaction and enjoyment. Otherwise, what's the point.
Every now and then it's good to stand back and look at the big picture.
