that's cheating? no. thats "strategy". (^-^) like in the comand and conquer. like in the war.. you can attack in the day.. or in the night... with a gun... or a bazooka
Treating each match like a war where anything goes as long as you win. ... love it ... in this scenario the tankers would be the kids down the road who turn up sometimes and let your tyres down or steal your ammo just as you going out to do battle.

Most ridiculous statement ever! - So if you are a runner and you take performance enhancing drugs is this not cheating? as you are doing everything you can to win? - Or maybe is you are a footballer is diving not cheating? because you are doing everything you can to win? I could go on and on with examples. Seriously silly statement.

My opinion is that if a player plays a game to try and lose than that is wrong, wrong and unsportsmanlike.

Trying to win every game played, regardless of the quality of the opposition, is right.

Giving up just cause a player lost a few games is wrong.

Battling to improve and change the fortunes of a team if they are doing badly is right.

Having the power to pick and chose which matches to try and lose and which matches to try and win is again unsportsmanlike and manipulates the league position of other players, all of which is wrong.

Accepting you might not be the best team and you might not win this time round, but still giving everything you got to finish as high as possible is right.

All the above is in my opinion.

Is tanking cheating .. nope .. it's allowed in this game.

Is tanking a good way to play the game .. of course not .. intentionally trying to lose games is just wrong (imo)

cheers mate for the welcoming back and the thread link.. not sure am gonna pass the first season, i just created a new club out of fun to see how much the match engine and the game had changed
regarding the subject, well I expected there might be a thread regarding that , but just wanted to see the polls, interesting so far many things it is ok .. and although I voted for "don't know option", but in reality it is kind cheating in my eyes at least regardless of the reasons

in 15 seasons i`v tanked once and this was last season after i saw 5 yes 5 token buyer`s in my league after promotion season pre and did not want 5th to 7th just for cup and promotion and possible meet these teams in new season, i want top 4 with champions league and cup, and as a non token buyer i want to compete with token buyer`s so if i meet token buyer`s next season then i now have a better chance against them, if a team tanked say 3/4 seasons in a row just to get super star player`s then yes cheating but for 1 season to compete the next season then no

I try to understand phenomenon of tanking, but I can't.
If you feel you'll struggle in the league/cup this season, why you don't try to test another formations, experiment with mentality and arrows, etc. ? It's nothing to lose, in worst scenario you'll just lose a match. If you tank, you'll lose many matches. So what's the point?
In my oppinion, if you fight bravely, you always have a chance to get underdog win, so at the end of the season you'll have more money, tokens adn your players will have bigger boost. And after all, what's with satisfaction? Is it really cool to beat team which start league and is few Q weaker than your team?

Tanking isn't too bad in some cases as there are good reasons (not excuses) to tank. So I think tanking is not cheating but for sure it should not be encourage!
It could be alright to tank 1 every 5 season otherwise tanker would be suffered many seasons before get satisfaction of winning titles.

I would fall into sleep if my team was losing again and again, I hate to think about how to lose the next match . Tanking does not sound very interesting to me.

The best moment is when you beat a stronger team not by a troll result but your right formation/tactic, your players' great performance..
I personally take granted from wining against weaker team so that's should not be something we aim to.
Build a strong team, beat other stronger/higher level teams in CL/Cup and win title is perhaps a better Goal.
