I don't think Tanking is cheating.

I think there is little logic in not wanting to try and get promoted. I understand some want Champions League football, but I'd rather play at the highest level possible every season. If that means I get promoted in 7th place, well that has got to be better than another season in the lower level.

If you don't think you have enough Tokens to challenge for promotion, save them for a season but still try to get promoted with your side. If you miss out then you have a nice arsenal of Tokens to make a go of it the following season. If you do get promotion you will still have a nice arsenal of Tokens, but at a higher level.

I have no problem with Tankers however. I have got myself a really strong team by watching videos and doing surveys etc.. That allows me to have a team better than everyone in my league for most seasons, unless there is a Token buyer in my league, so that could also be seen as cheating as I am using the videos to boost my team.

Its just a game at the end of the day, have fun with it, but don't take it too seriously.

I can't say that I don't agree with you but if you don't have any chance also you don't have a lot of time to make some tokens or to search for players why you should fight for 6,7 place?

for the same reasons why fans stands behind their teams even when they are bottom half of table kind of clubs
people tend to call fans who are in it for the glory a glory hunter, why see that any different?
somehow in between, some had lost their love of football as an entertaining sport , ok your team lose, it $ucks, but ok it was an incredible match.. or may be am to idealistic ?
IN UK, I admire the fans alot who stands by and support their clubs even when they are in far inferior leagues .. they are here not bcz their clubs are winning, but bcz of love of football, the joy of winning, the soreness of losing, the amazing success story when finishing above far stronger side in the league and giving them a run for their money .. where all that has gone?

people need to remember that, IRL manipulation of any match outcome is not allowed in any football match regardless of the reason
so if tanking and manipulation of results is acceptable, bcz some don't want to spend extra tokens and rather exploit some loopholes, what that make it any difference from creating 4-5 accounts and power support your main side? bcz it is same concept, but in the first you want to improve your team and be more superior, same apply for the second one too

Except watching videos is perfectly fair because nordeus put the option there themselves. They never meant for people to exploit the game like that (not that they care too much lol). Hard to have fun when you face players who intentionally try to lose. And it ruins it for the people who actually play.

Not all countries have videos for tokens and boosters. This makes it unfair for others.

While that is true, it should also be noted that promotion in England is something that a club can choose to turn down. Whitley Bay for example continually turn down promotion as do West Auckland Town from the Northern League because they believe losing out on playing in the FA Trophy, added with increased traveling costs would put both clubs in trouble with going bust.

On the other side of that coin, 5 years ago Durham City won promotion from the Unibond North into the Unibond Premier and were then told by the football association that if they got promoted again they wouldn't be allowed to go into the Conference due to playing on an artificial pitch. As a result their main sponsor pulled out and all their players left the club to play for other teams. Instead of spending to stay in the league Durham deliberately decided to play collage kids for the season, to save on wages and to take relegation and regroup the year after. Kettering did a similar thing a year later, leaving the Conference National, while teams like Darlington and Chester have pulled out from leagues too to cut running costs - with the latter two reforming as new clubs the following season.

To try and say "this is what happens in real life" and use that as a reason why people shouldn't put weaker sides out in this game is just flawed. Only 2 seasons ago in the Premiership Reading put a weak side out against one of the top teams, as they had a relegation 6 pointer 3 days later with another club. If a team qualifys for the Champions League with a game to spare they put out a second string (even happens in the World Cup where the better players are rested), or if a big team is playing a smaller one in the FA Cup the big names often sit out. The league cup, the Paint Trophy and at Non League level, the County Cups, often see second elevens played as part of "squad rotation". The argument being is if a player is registered with the club they can play in any game in any position.


This is just a game. The user can play what ever formation he wants, with as many players out of position. It's not cheating in my opinion unless they have more than one team in the league and they deliberately throw games against themselves.

Exactly. Do everything you can to win. So actually try to win with good managing skills, not giving up and throwing all your games so you can roll over everyone in the next season.
