Palace Casuals learned that life after Champions League is equally tough - visiting the second-from-bottom team, found themselves facing a defensive, man-to-man marking squad, which somewhat snuffed out their ambitions. Having fallen behind in the 15th minute, Casuals continued their exertions fruitlessly, until the home right-back fouled left-winger Hansen once too often and found himself back in the changing room. Thus unshackled, Hansen immediately set about the home defence, and in the space of ten minutes had more shots on goal than in the previous 60. It was a right-wing corner, however, which was to be the home side's undoing, and Hansen rose unmarked to head home Shaqiri's corner kick to send the Casuals away with a share of the spoils...

Palace Terriers are checking the small print in their Troll Insurance as they fell to a 1-2 home defeat to an inferior team who have been punching above their weight all season. Having taken the lead in the first half through young striker Atkins, who headed in a Briggs corner in the 39th minute, the home side then found everything that had previously worked no longer did so. It all came to a head with two corners for the opposition late in the second half, both of which were scored, the whole side having done nothing in the game up to then...

How did you know that the marking type used by the opponent was man-to-man?

It seemed likely seeing as the same players were named as taking actions against my players in the commentary. Most notable was the player who was eventually dismissed - everything Hansen did, he was the player tackling him, blocking shots, etc. When he went, Hansen flourished unhindered...
