When to assign skills

I think I read somewhere in this forum but I cannot find it again.
Does it matter when I assign the skills to my players?

I usually do it after every training\match. Can it be wrong?

I have collected a lot of skill points and don't want to sell any player.
Moreover, does it matter that in 2 days the next season will start?

I assign my players' points until they are just a point away from their next star because gaining a star will greatly reduce their training speed. That also puts them on the negotiations list so I can get tokens for my players.

Also, if you save it until next season, you can renew contracts for cheaper, and then assign the points.

my tip if you have skills saved and a player is on two year contract wait till they have 1 year left as when new season starts their value goes down meaning you save on re-signing ( you pay 10% to them with market value) them to a new contract, once you have on 3year contract add the skill and their market value goes back up.

a forum admin once wrote that after someone's contract is up, you have 10 days in the new season to sign them despite their contract being up. best to wait for that

My player has 39 quality (6 stars) and has 15 skill points, can I assign his skill points and get him 7 stars? Yes next season, he will drop to 6 stars. But I just want to see him with 7 stars for the few days remaining of the season.

Thats what I tend to do. $ isn't a problem to me.

I know when a player hits scout he gets less skill points to improve....but does it really matter for players with 5 stars or below?

I think so. Maybe Accyrover or July knows more about this. I just use very basic tips and tricks when it comes to training.
