Palace teams report, Saturday...
Palace Casuals first up today with a Champions League away match. Playing against a team with 3.9Q advantage, Casuals played 4-5-1V as tight as you can get it, and Trolled their opponent with a 46th minute goal from Garaev for a 1-0 win.
Desert Rats FC played mid-afternoon and won their first Champions League match 1-0 away. Taking their cue from their senior team they also frustrated their opponents and an O'Toole goal in the 16th minute was sufficient to steal the match. Defender Alex Woolley made his 50th appearance for the Rats in this game.
Barely 4 hours later and Desert Rats took to the field again in the League, and secured a welcome boost to their goal difference with a 5-1 away win which keeps them in touch with the League leaders. Slaby, O'Toole, Taylor (2) and Hammes were the goal scorers, but the Nordeus machine dealt another blow against DMC players when Abdul Karim was injured.
Palace Casuals played a late evening away League match and Jekyll and Hyde turned up again - having played a fantastic CL match they again turned in a dire League performance. Goal-less until the 66th minute, Garaev opened the scoring but the defence let the home side in for two late goals as the Casuals crashed to a 1-2 defeat. More gloom on the injury front as striker Petrovski became the latest player to head for the medical centre.
Palace Terriers were almost bored to death by the time they got to their only match of the day at a very late hour. Away in the League, they left it very late to score the winning goal, Dolgoborodov rising majestically to head in a corner from MoM Peralta in the 89th minute for a 1-0 win.
