Palace teams report, Day 4, Wednesday...
Palace Casuals kicked off first, away in the 1st Leg of the Qualifying Round of the Cup, and were just edged out in a seven goal thriller. Striker Philip Deery put the visitors ahead, but the home side scored twice to lead at half-time. After the break, Casuals scored twice through Mario Dinamarca and Soheil-Vosough Gholam to go back into the lead, before the hosts struck back with a couple of goals to complete the scoring, Casuals losing 3-4.
Palace Terriers first match today was a home League match, and the strikers prospered, Waldemar Sanchez and Tony Meikle each scoring twice and Zdenek Krajca netting one in a 5-1 win, keeping Terriers top of the embryonic League table.
Casuals return to League action was a disappointing 1-2 away defeat, Soheil-Vosough Gholam scoring the consolation goal. Although not involved in the League match, left-sided defender Mohamed Monney suffered an injury in post-match training and will be out for 4 days.
Terriers continue to produce wins, making it six out of six with a 3-0 victory in their Cup 1st Leg match. After losing striker Tony Meikle to injury after only 5 minutes, Terriers dominated the match, Luis Fernando Peralta, Zdenek Krajca and substitute striker Waldemar Sanchez finding the net. Central defender/defensive midfielder Miguel Perez made his 50th appearance for the Terriers.
