Based upon my observations. Not top 100 but currently @ 1679 points and in platinum which is close enough that we should have similar draws to the top 100,
Individual points of the teams is not to help deceive the draw. I think it's just an accountability thing to help the captain (or vice-captain) keep track of how each manager in the association is performing. Basically, it is what have you done for me lately.
As for association points, there is probably a draw before the draw we see, that does subgrouping. It's obviously based upon quality of best X players, but is most likely accounting for associations points (ex. 1679). Which during some weekends increases the odds of that 1679 point group playing another very good platinum association. What this does is it helps keep the top of the platinum divison away from those associations that are fighting for their lives to hold platinum (ex. 1250 - 1300 points headed into the final weekend). Typical format of draws for in a season for us is something like (Bad, Good, Average, Bad).
Bad = season-ending 1550+ opponent.
