If you had created this game, would you have made it so that it matters? Then how would it matter? What is good from a Captain? Courage? Or does it help the player if he is named Captain?

I've seen this question asked every now and then. So years ago I wanted to check if I missed something about football captains.

Specifically the Responsibilities section.

I get what LeManiaque is saying but seems that in football a captain is mostly the voice and face of the team, and is the person who everyone basically relies upon to do... some, of the decision making and what not.

There is no specific point to the captain position in Top Eleven other than having it for the sake of realism.

Well that's not entirely true. If the game wants to be in such level realistic, we should not be able to boost the morale of the players with 2 taps... (What a spacialist is this who boosts so easily your morale, I want him too)

For me captain could play a role in the morale of other players of the team.
Captains are influential, thats why thay are selected.

Good selection of a captain could slighlty improve the morale of the team or/and make it harder to drop down..

Now which parameters would make a good cap is up to the devs.
Age, matches played or a new skill... influence could be introduced.

These tiny details make a good game better.

Oh, no !
We have enough of "unknown" factors that affect the game
We don't need another one, so to wonder if we lost the game because of the wrong choice of the Captain.

If the position of the captain could be useful at something, is :

The player we have for Captain of the team, should get the skill point gift of the day
(and not our veteran player who 's gonna retire in the end of the season, or a player who is not in the plans for the next season )

This is another approach but I like it as well.

In general I do not like useless things floating around.
It is not just a football game, it is a football strategy game so everything should matter, and have its own value.. more or less!

actually i like the idea of a captain, in this game he dont have to be anything influential or whatsoever as long as i can see a (C) on their name is good enough.
