One of the few times that attack made the real difference in the league.

I think this was the hardest league won.
Till 3/4 of the league, 3-4 teams were competing for the title and more 4 teams were too hard opponents.
At last step of the season only 2 teams could keep up.
But having beaten him on both games, he cannot ask for more.. The trolls were not enough

Desert Rats FC Season Review.

How do you follow a treble-winning season? By trying for another, but this time the Champions League and Cup would be at a +1 Level.

At Level 7 in the League, after a slow but steady start, the Rats really got into gear when they found themselves on top of the table after a catastrophic day of results for their nearest challengers, and gradually pulled away into a comfortable lead, which withstood their first loss in the League for two seasons late on in the competition.




Desert Rats were drawn in a Level 8 Champions League, which included only three Level 7 teams, two that were treble-winners, and the other only just missed out on a treble, losing their CL Final in the previous season. The Group stage was pretty much a cake walk, barring the unexpected last Round defeat which did little to prevent the Rats finishing top of the Group. After a stunning 5-1 win in the 1st Leg of the Round of 16 over a higher-Quality team, progress was made to the Quarter-Finals where they hit another higher-Quality team, but this time failed to qualify.



The Management searched in vain for another Level 7 team in the Cup draw, and thus concluded a tough season was ahead. He couldn't have been more wrong, as the reeled off a draw and nine wins to reach the Final, against a team 10%Q-higher. The Management decided to wheel out the trusty 4-5-1V and the team recorded an impressive 3-1 victory to win the Cup.

I want to thank my team for the best season ever (destroyed by the buggy FA-weekend).

-) we won 8.triple, 2.triple in a row (again )
-) we scored most goals and conceeded fewest in only one season
-) we won 49 games, 1 draw -> including FA: 60 wins, 1 draw, 1 lose (this weekend I don't count)
-) we made a new unbeaten streak of 107 - and counting
-) we made 1.time old school
-) we won a +1 CL with a 12 clean sheet-streak
-) Costa took all TopX of the league (assists on the last day)

Costa was (again...) the best player this season

I woz there - truly a game of two halves... I wondered what was happening at first - surely he's not tanking a Championship? 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, 0-4, 1-4 - half-time. Then 2-4, 3-4, getting late here, surely not enough time - then 4-4, 5-4 in quick succession. I was exhausted, and I was only watching the match...
