How can 3 stars player be better than 5 stars?

Hello,
I have bought 2 players aged 18 and 19 Strikers, both with 5 stars. i've let them play 10 games against not so strong teams in my league.. and the aged 18 scored twice and the 19 scored once.. and then i let 2 other strikers aged 22 and 21 both with 3 stars(and not better at attack than the younger players) play 5 games against basically the same teams in the league and the 21 years old scored 6 times in 5 games and the 22 years old scored 7 times.. how can that be possible that the lower ranked players play much better than the younger and better players?

There might be a hidden stat amongst players. Some may be crap and some may be an amazing player, you can't really tell.

Form? Exp? I am not sure if these are taken care of in the background! Or maybe i am hoping for too much realism in a game!

lol my 27-year-old 2 star striker is leading my league in goals and assists. it's completely random how the player performs.

Likewise, i have 6-7 stars players lacking good performances or goals, while the 3* or 4* jumps in scoring 10 goals in 5 matches. This can happen in real soccer too.

this is football. not always the "best" are the best.

this is the thing that i hate most about this game. You spend a lot of money and tokens on a great player - but then no matter what happens he can only get 4s and 5s in match rating.

It really puts you off and makes you not wanna spend tokens on buying good players

the second placed player of my league got a 32 y.o that scores (2nd top scorer) and assists (1st top assists) every match and even if his team sucks that striker saved his ass way too many times !

Same in my league, I have world class 23/24yo's in my team, often the top performer in my league is some 33yo from a team halfway down the league...you just can't tell.

Guys this isn't the real football IMHO.
A 7* player should play better than a 3* player......
Sadly in my experience some scout are a totally waste of money.....
I've sold a 4* dc that was a beast..goals, a WALL in front of my GK......I miss him.....
